That Jeep would shell out whatever it took to get Springsteen to shill their wares tells me they are scared shiatless of the Ford Bronco coming out this year.

I know, right? Rich, white men get treated so unfairly in this country.

Well, he ran down the chicken man in Philly that night, and he drove through his house, too.

Speaking as a Jeep owner.....

That commercial was ridiculous.  "Oooooh!  Let's have a guy from New Jersey act like a rugged cowboy...and have him drive around in cold weather with the top down."

I saw Billy Joel right after one of his famously drunken accidents.  He opened the show with "thank you all for coming, even you guys in the crappy seats, my insurance premiums are killing me"

Umm...are you familiar with Bruce Springsteen's entire career? He made his name on being the voice of blue collar factory workers everywhere despite never having even held a job beside "struggling musician." I have a lot of respect for the man and his work, but putting on a costume is what he's always done.

You would think car companies would have clauses in their contracts that a celebrity in their commercials could not have a DUI in the past or get one, or arrested for DUI within x amount of time after they finish the commercial.  Say 6 months or a year.  Or they must repay the cost of the commercial.  Not just their pay, the entire cost.

Problem solved.

well, they sat on it, because they had wrapped the commercial and not released yet.

Millions in ad costs, Millions in ad revenue at stake. And they must have paid thousands to keep that quiet for this long.

Anyone that rich who gets a dui should be executed on the spot.

There's no way he's out of his house without security, right? Why weren't they driving? No excuse to be driving inebriated.

Whoa there, maybe after a fair trial.  With wealth multipliers for sentencing, and immediate review by the supreme court to fast track execution.

Sandy Hook is almost my front yard, been going there since 1980. Out of all the years I would drive around there while doing many lines of cocaine and drinking open beers in the car from parking lot A, B, C, etc., never ever did I get caught by those half asleep rangers for anything. He must have been really over the line.

He had a bottle of rose and he tried it.

As to having security he's kind of known in the area for just going about his life as if he wasn't a star.  Going to the gym, the store, etc. so it's easy to picture him getting too loose to fake.

Wha?  Next you'll tell me that Tim McGraw never rode the rodeo and Ice Cube didn't have to use an AK on an average day.  I don't believe you.

I partied quite a bit in Monmouth / Ocean counties back in the late 80s and it was not really a big deal to be riding on regular streets in the back of a pickup with a cooler of beer. Sandy Hook was a little far for us, now and then we'd go to IBSP but mostly hit Point and Squan. Had a fried who had a winter rental by the seawall by Monmouth Beach and had a few bonfire keggers on the beach there. Nobody could see us.

Today is different. What surprises me is the cop didn't just drive him home and call backup to drive his car home. Poor Bruce is getting old and irrelevant. If it had been Pew Dee Pie, now, that's a real celebrity! Instant pass.

If it was in November, it was close to the election. Trust me, there are a lot of cops who are not fond of people with a history of playing at rallies for Democratic candidates.

Cops - stupid and uncultured right-wingers.
Also cops - meticulous observers of which musicians play at rallies for Democratic candidates.

Also, the Diamond Knot pub and grill next door is great. Have only been there once for takeout since this time last year, because, you know. Put it on your list once things open up more.

Idiots that have never actually listened to the lyrics of Born in the USA and just assume it's another boot-licking love anthem to the flag that they can't get enough of.

It's laughable when a celebrity who pushes for gun control tries to act like they are from "flyover country".

Why does the average Farker assume everyone is an old and white as they are?  I would venture that 90+% of Americans do not know Springsteen's political affiliation.
