to spend more time with his money

I don't know why he wouldn't, unless he's crazy.  Amazon doesn't seem like any fun, and it's a spaghetti nightmare of a corporation.  Bezos seems without imagination or much drive, beyond having a lot of money.  He's got a lot of money, but apparently no ideas of what to do with it.  Dude's ripe for a phenomenal existential crisis, if he's a thinker.

And if he's not, he has no excuse for not pursuing hardcore hedonism to keep his mind occupied until he dies.  So, either way, he ought to slough Amazon off his shoes.

RandomAxe: Bezos seems without imagination or much drive

Uh huh.

Now I'm not one to say that all rich people just work hard, but are we really going to look at his legacy and say he didn't have imagination or drive?

Also, he has Blue Origin for crying out loud. He's just a quieter, slower-paced Elon Musk.

Maybe he needs more time to get a side piece to compliment his former side piece.

Wouldn't surprise me if he went the Bill Gates route and started a charity of some kind. He got the point where the corporate world no longer holds his interest so he will find something else. Of course Gates also managed to keep his wife after getting rich and was never busy chasing around side pieces so who honestly knows.

I heard he was getting a sex change, but with only one boob.

I'm guessing the Amazon v. Union in Alabama is about to get ugly and he doesn't want his fingerprints on that dumpster fire.

Clearly you've never heard of Blue Origin. Certainly not that they've already put a down payment on water from the asteroids. He has bigger aspirations.

The pandemic created an insane growth opportunity for Amazon, "deliver it to me."

As things return to normal, people are actually going to enjoy the nostalgia of going to actual shops. Sales are going to drop. You don't want to be there for the ride down. Get out on top. You can always contemplate doing a Steve Jobs style reprise later but if you get out you can sell significant amounts of your holdings and prepare for the next adventures.

Could be he is just bored with Amazon and wants to focus on some other project to keep his interest. The CEO of one of my clients pretty much stepped down a few years ago and had his cousin run the business while he focused on his pro sports team. He still gets paid but really has nothing to do with the day to day of the company.

And it won't be on his chest.  He's just gonna walk around with one massive ass cheek.

He needs to pwn Elon by making and marketing a REAL flamethrower.
