Constitutional Originalism demands 14 year maximum terms for copyrights.

You can keep promoting the problems by acting like copyrights are forces of physics or you can be a part of the solution and lobby for 14 year originalist terms to promote creativity and scientific innovation.

I'm no expert, but wouldn't the artist be a cartoonist instead of a comic artist? Or are my Marvel Zombie roots showing?

I originally submitted this with a superior headline:

Comic artist whose comic was plagiarized for short film, plagiarized comic from another comic artist and tried to weasel out by.photoshopping evidence that his was first. This headline is wholly original."

He's a pretentious dickhead of such a caliber that you have to point out what a pretentious dickhead he is every time he comes up in conversation:

A comic about planting fingernail clippings. And growing a human.

Also he came up with Loss. He doesn't get to ever be taken seriously ever again.

Seems like an awful lot of trouble over what is an incredibly bad comic anyway.

Let the Fark photoshoppers loose on "his" comic. We could use the laughs.

I don't know anything about this but I've seen that same joke in comics are least twice and it was neither of these.

Are you trying to tell me that something's obscure on Fark?  ;)

It's from an episode of Seinfeld.  Elaine decides she can write New Yorker cartoons, so she makes that one, and it gets published.  Later it's discovered that she'd (unintentionally?) copied a Ziggy cartoon.

Someone is going to have to make a flowchart out of this story and that headline. It's all fairly incomprehensible at this point.

Strictly speaking:

Comic Writer - Someone who writes the concept/dialogue for a comic, but doesn't draw it
Comic Artist - Someone who draws, inks, and if applicable colors the non-written parts of a comic, but doesn't write it

Sometimes Artist is split into "Inker" who does linework, "Letterer" who redoes the text to be readable, "Colorist" who does nothing but color and shading, etc, depending how big your operation is.

Basically if you say you're a comic/s "artist" you're not usually being pretentious, you're specifying that you are not the production's writer.

// Disclaimer: I'm not familiar with this specific guy, and it sounds like he is an incurably moronic dipshiat, so it's possible that he doesn't know this and is trying to be pretentious?  I dunno, man, twitter fights are not a tier of drama that I usually pay attention to.

I was half expecting this to be an article about CAD, but now I am just as disappointed.

I think he's more highlighting the difference between the artists who do the funny paper comics and the artists who do comic books and graphic novels.  Not the difference between the artists and the writers.

She could fix the whole situation if she'd just let the New Yorker publish her Christmas card photo.

* Short film gets released.
* Cartoonist claims it's plagiarized from a comic strip he drew.
* 2nd Cartoonist accuses 1st Cartoonist of plagiarizing one of his comics and to get off his high horse.
* 1C posts the "original" pre-dating 2C's comic, claiming the later version was a remaster, and 2C is the REAL plagiarist
* People find no trace of the original "rough draft" comic on 1C's old blog.
* 1C is now accused of faking the screenshot of the "rough draft."
