His vote was recorded.

If the coup had succeeded republicans would be cheering that it succeeded

2021-01-28 10:32:19 AM
He didn't.  He just wanted to ensure it was never officially recognized.  But it's a distinction without a difference, and he knows it.

He literally disputes the legitimacy in the same breath he vows he did not. He's not a bright man.

If you didn't disputed the legitimacy of the election, then what the fark were you getting your base all riled up for?

Trump lost, he lied that he won and the election was fraudulent and republicans either echoed those lies, fundraised off those lies, stayed silent and refused to speak out against the lies, or some combination of the above.

STOP...LYING!

You have fed republican voters pure outrage so often for so long they have become junkies and will gladly destroy whomever or whatever they need to get their fix.

edmo: He literally disputes the legitimacy in the same breath he vows he did not. He's not a bright man.

It's more that he's trying to convince other not bright people.  Which is reflected in the relative quality of his argument.

Well, either he is lying his ass off, or he is incredibly embarrassed that he believed all the bullshiat lies from Trump & the Strike Force team of intellectually stunted and morally bankrupt attorneys.

Neither is a good option.

He wants to exploit the MAGAts while not being held accountable for the actions he encourages from them.  He's not embarrassed.  He's trying, poorly, to walk a tightrope.

To tell a Republican to stop lying (as much as I agree with you) is like telling a cloud to stop clouding--it's in their chemistry.

2021-01-28 10:52:26 AM
Why do this?  Does he not risk losing the whole group he was trying to get with this?  Or will they ignore this and he wins both sides?

He's not talking to Dems or independents when he does that.

He's talking to Republicans, who will choose to believe him.

He actually did not say that.

He says he didn't *intend* to *overturn the election*.

That's a non-denial for *disputing the legitimacy of Biden's election*.

We need to be done with these assholes or it's going to keep getting worse.

Amendment 14 Section 3 any one of them that publicly made even the slightest statement in support of the insurrection and attempted coup.

Make them beg and sue to get back, and if the Supremes decide the wording isn't exactly what it is, then we're done and it's time for the Republic Of California And The Cascades.

Josh, you know we can see you, right? You're on video trying to halt the process of Biden becoming President.

Unfortunately for the rest of us, the tightrope is about a foot off the ground and there's (still) a safety net.

Headline should be "josh lies" thats it

Good to see he's a man of his word and holds steadfast to his convictions.

Speaking of convictions, don't you think he'd look great after a proper trial, sitting behind bars? It would suit him so well

Yep.

He's trying to be Robespierre, harnessing the mob and riding it.

Of course, the mop eventually guillotined Robespierre, so...

I prefer to think of him as Kyle. That way when his Becky turns into a Karen they can get married and punch out drywall together.

He's using the Trump defense - when called out on your lies or anything else, deny and double down!

2021-01-28 11:12:18 AM
He's still doing it.....

"What we need to have are elections that are fair, free and open (1) and I think congress needs to do its job and look into election regularities," Senator Hawley said. "It's a lie that I was trying to overturn the election or that Ted Cruz was trying to overturn an election. It's a lie that I incited violence or that he incited violence or that having a debate on the floor or that having a debate on the senate floor is equivalent to violence."

(1) you do - you just did.
(2) this job belongs to the SAL officials - and they do - regularly - and they always have; then thousands of academics and government officials study it closely, and with serious intent - since 1783.
(3) you're a lie, ya big, dummy

He's been on Fox three times already.

Double downs syndrome.

Even after the insurrection Hawley did still sign on to a challenge of electoral college votes and caused two hours of debate in each chamber and a vote. If nothing else he needlessly dragged an already arduous day into the wee hours of the morning. Now he wants to claim he had no part in that? Expel the dogfarker already.

Does he seriously not think his actions have consequences or is he trying to weasel out before we notice that point A is what leads point B?  "We're not trying to get Hawley to resign!  We just want accountability from entitled seditionists.  Why, yes, that would require the removal of this human shiatstain, but that's not what we're focusing on here..."

This.

He is positioning himself to be Trump's successor and is courting the lunatic fringe for a 2024 run.  He has been working towards this goal for probably his entire adult life.  It is a calculated move and he understands the hypocrisy behind it all, but as long as the Trumpers support him, its ok.
