A virus uses the human as host to replicate. That's it. That replication can overwhelm bodily functions...like breathing. A mask is defense against that to yourself and others.

By not wearing a mask you're only prolonging the pandemic and economic devastation.

As has been said before, the phrase "avoid it like the plague" has to be retired, as it turns out there are plenty of people who embrace the plague.

The Republican party embraced racists and evangelicals, two groups that don't believe in reality.

I've read various pundits bemoan that America is now so segregated into red areas and blue areas, and how this is bad, but this pandemic has me thinking its great.  Everyone in my libfart part of town wears a mask in the stores, but when I go out to the exurbs or to a rural area to hike, nobody wears a mask.  We're both getting what we want.  Looks to me like everyone wins.

Hey Wisconsin,

Your state senators are literally trying to kill you, but it's not really my business over here in VA. Just thought you'd want to know.

Love,

So basically their argument is, "If the governor can make an emergency mandate about masks during a pandemic, what's to stop him from making an emergency law about __________ after the pandemic is over??"

As a Wisconsinite, I am embarrassed about our ass-hats in the legislature. They've been pulling this crap since last summer.

I'm okay with this, as long as we close the Illinois-Wisconsin border.

Since we won't....fark you guys.

1. Americans in general are stupid and lazy, emboldened by the toxic ideological lie that is "American exceptionalism."

2. America likes money more than it likes human life.

That's really all there is to say.

They are secretly using the fatal variants of the virus in cheese making, but the ageing process will take 2 - 1/2 years.  They need to prolong the pandemic, since the cheese tastes really bad, and the more survivors who have lost their sense of taste will be a plus.

Okay, finally we're getting somewhere. Pass a law that 1) limits the governor's emergency powers in the future while 2) allowing the health department to require mask use.

The Republicans in this state aren't going anywhere for a while.  Unless by some miracle the redistricting goes the Democrats way which I wholly doubt.  Best chance is to elect a Dem in 2023 when the state SC seat comes up and hope Evers holds on in 2022.

An entire generation of cultivated unearned pride, growing up in a world where they believe they are "owed" despite living in the most prosperous time in history.

This leads to the idea "No one can tell me what to do!" so, like children, when told what to do the answer is to scream "NOOOO!!!" like a child. Except, unlike children we can't/don't discipline them.

So, they run around maskless infecting people and only when they're dying in a hospital bed choking on their own hubris does the thought possible occur "I should have listened" that or they just expire clinging to false beliefs fed to them by a false god they idolized.

I don't exactly wish death upon these people, but I can say I offer a hell of a lot of sympathy either.

"This is not about whether face masks are good or bad, this is about repeatedly issuing emergency orders contrary to what the law allows," resolution author Senator Steve Nass said.

No.  It's because the right-wing media train decided this thing was a hoax back in the beginning and has been fighting reality ever since.  This is just another measure to try and save face (i.e. about your feelings).  And as usual you chicken shiat farks never say what it really is.

It was established pseudoscience in the 1300s.  By 1918, it was already understood, and mandated that gargling salt water would keep you safe.  Do your part.  Gargle your salt water!

Michigan, checking in. Governor shut down in-person dining and shut down non-essential businesses to give our inadequate medical services a fighting chance to contain the outbreak. Every Republican I know wants the governor arrested and jailed for life. They also refuse to wear masks or self-isolate; "Eh, if I get it, I get it. Staying home ain't gonna change that."  It definitelywill, fark stick. Do you really not know how viruses are transmitted? If you aren't exposed to a virus, you definitely won't get it.

I work for a company with multiple locations in every state. This local and state-by-state mask ordinance/order/mandate crap is maddening. Local government websites often suck. I then have to rely on media websites to find out who has and who doesn't have a mask requirement, and many of them suck, too.

How FARKING hard is it to put up an ACTUAL TEXT OF YOUR MASK REQUIREMENTS? Don't just link to the CDC website. I know public outreach people.at CDC, I can farking FIND their website on  my own.

And then, maybe the local jurisdiction that our facility is in doesn't have a mask order, but the next city does, or the county doesn't but the big city does.

Kemp and DeSantis claim to be "business friendly." You know what would be friendly to a large, mutli-location employer? Some FARKING CONSISTENCY! Even Kay Ivey has a statewide mask order, as weak as it might be, and has it on the state website.

It's a sad day when Alabama outdoes Florida and Georgia on a public safety measure.

Michigan is currently the only state without a statewide emergency order, according to the National Governor's Association,

Yes, thanks to f*cking Republicans.

Thankfully "That Woman" was able to use the Health Department to mandate such an order state wide as well as some other lock-down rules that were put in place in November, which by shear coincidence (sarcasm), was shortly before Covid cases started a downward trend in Michigan even during the holiday season when other states saw an increase.
