Hoping for direct digital distribution again. There's a few there I want to see, but no way am I setting foot in a theater without the self-contained atmosphere of a NASA spacesuit.

9+1 if you include Hobbs and Shaw

Dunc will probably be the first I see in the theater.

I'm so hoping No Time to Die will be leaked online before then.

Nein!

Wow, not one movie. I was sort of looking forward to Ghostbusters because it has the surviving original cast but I can't stand "passing the torch to kids" movies. And since I was alive u never missed a Bond film until Craig came along and now 007 is a black chick because WOKE! I have no idea where they can go to with The Matrix.

Looks like I won't be catching covid at a theater, it'll have to be at the bathhouse I always frequent.  Was that out loud?

Dune is the only "must see" one for me, although I definitely want to see Black Widow as well. But if it only ends up on Disney+, I'll skip it; I have enough subscription services.

I ain't gonna lie, if Japanese theaters showed Dune tomorrow with modest precautions (half capacity, staggered seating, mask required, sanitizer at the door, no eating/snacks inside, etc.), I would be there will bells on. Everything else? Meh... I can wait.

19 ways to say Meh.

Only movie i have any remote interest in seeing in the theater is that adaptation of Long Walk in the works, and who knows if\when that's happening.

Godzilla vs Kong already pushed back 5 days, to Match 31.  I'm still counting it as a birthday present.  Been waiting for this rematch since 1962.

Yeah, I could use a justification for having Disney+ besides 10 episodes of The Mandalorean every year.

Why does Godzilla have such a tiny head?

Wow. I am...whelmed.

I don't know, that Pink Floyd song on Dune sounded stupid to me

Minari looks interesting, but I don't think it needs to be seen in a theatre. Free Guy looks promising, but then again I thought the same about Green Lantern... Oh, and I won't miss Dune and the new Ghostbusters. Everything else - including Bond and Matrix - pass.

Hadn't even heard of Free Guy but it looks fun from the trailer at least.   Would be nice to think the vaccines will be distributed by this summer, but not holding my breath.

Aren't they both reinvented as Kaiju eradicators? Why are they fighting?

Spoiler alert:

Someone is making Mecha-Godzilla in secret. OG Lizard somehow knows, and starts attacking people, so the "good" guys draft Kong into the fight.

Final battle is either a tag team, or a three-way battle of CGI awesomeness

Still going to want to see it. Safe in a theatre, or at home in 4k with some edibles

Candyman: yes, f*ck yes
Coming 2 America: ehhhhh maybe

The rest? Nah.

They made Candyman sound like it's going to get really preachy with the race thing.

Dune, perhaps.

Some of the others (Raya, Minari, the Ryan Reynolds one) would be streaming worthy. Most of these look like ass. (Which, granted, is due to win Best Screenplay.)

Since when is Kong taller than the farking Empire State Building?

I didn't see the Sam Jackson Kong movie but apparently this is  a different universe where he's big enough to fight Godzilla but way too big to carry a girl around.

You're right, let's not get all preachy about the son of a slave being murdered for sleeping with a white woman. Now is the time for unity.

Oh FFS.

I think the original conveyed that all pretty well without Denzel as Candyman marching on Washington.

The match-up of Godzilla and King Kong has been dreamed of by monster movie fans since the early 1960s. Luckily, there will always be room for more remakes, and the bigger the monster the better, which means it's finally happening, if a little later than originally planned.

Monster fans were dreaming of a movie that actually came out in the early 1960s? Why didn't they buy a ticket and just go see it?
