Not sure how it could possibly top Jets, but they're welcome to try.

If you've ever had Jet's Pizza, that's basically the chain version of Detroit style. Essentially, it's a pan pizza but rectangular and with the layering of ingredients a bit different. It's pretty good. the cheese is applied all the way to the edge so that it gets crispy and browned at the crust.

I mean, Little Caesar's is a more well-known purveyor of Detroit-style pizza.

/just with lower-quality ingredients
//but it's cheap and it's fast and there's one a half-mile away - two pizzas AND crazy bread AND a 2-liter for less than $20 and with the app and the little pizza lockers, I don't have to interact with a single human being

He lost all credibility when he said his favorite was from little Ceasar's. Does he live off fast food pizza? Finally NYC and Chicago can form a pact and drive from east and west and meet in the middle to gang up on a pizza neither likes.

Nope. I consider Detroit style second best to Chicago tavern style.

And I didn't have it till well into my 20s.

Went to Buddy's Pizza in Detroit long ago for the first time. Thought they burned the pizza. Now I find out that's the way it's 'sposed to be.

Wait, they used to sell that back when I was still playing AYSO soccer. That was the first time I ever saw Street Fighter 2.

433: If you want something really good, well go looking for it and you'll find it.  If you need perfectly cromulent middle-of-the-road pizza, Pizza Hut has your back.  F*ck Papa John.

Papa John's sauce is disgusting.

The last time we had Pizza Hut, we ordered a $25 pizza that tasted worse than frozen pizza. Seriously, both Digiorno and even $3 Costco frozen pizza put this plasticy manufactured $25 Pizza Hut garbage to shame.

Also this, I don't know what pizza hut did.  While it was by no means great, there was flavor in there, even if it was mostly coming from the salt.  These days, the hut favorite crust topper, cheese, and sauce all taste bland as though it's mostly oil/butter/whatever other filler they can use instead of real food.

I can actually recall when they used bulk sausage and cooked it on the pizza. What they use now looks like it was shiat out of a bunny.

admittedly, it was in the late 80s, but Detroit Gas Station pizza rocked!

Individual slices wrapped in aluminum foil.

It comes from Detroit.  It's double-damned.

So... It's crispy cheesy breadsticks with marinara dipping already added on top? I mean, I guess I'd try it, but the sauce on top just sounds like it's going to be a mess. Normally the cheese is layered on top to keep the sauce from falling off.
