I haven't heard the words 'bigly' or 'many people are saying' or 'good people, on both sides' yet and he's been in office a whole week already. I'm starting to get disappointed.

Yay, pets in the White House again. What a pair!

Had tacos on Friday.  Leftover pot roast tonight.

I have a little Google Mini speaker that tells me my calendar entries.  Occasionally, the Assistant determines (for reasons beyond me) that certain combinations of words are not English, and decides to replace my American Dude assistant voice with a voice it feels is better-suited for whatever language it thinks the calendar item is.

We're having pot roast tonight.  The calendar says "Pot roast."  If I ask what's on the calendar, American Dude says, "There's one entry today.  At 5 p.m., you have" and then this European lady butts in and says "Poohhht roahhhst."  Is is Melania?  If I make it "Pot roast and potatoes" the American Dude handles the whole thing.  Maybe she doesn't like potatoes, I don't know.

Anyhow, back to work.  It has started to snow.  MAYBE THEY'LL SEND US HOME...oh, wait.

Yeah, we're about 500 feet.  My coworker in Hillsboro reported it first, then my Tigard coworker.  My Gresham coworkers don't have any yet.  I'm south of Portland, down Clackamas County way.  It was 37 when it started, now 36.  My Hillsboro coworker said it dropped from 36 to 32 pretty quickly for her, 20 minutes or so.

Update on Truck A-hole from last night.

It's 4:22pm.
They left the truck there overnight.

The snowplow driver was out of farks to give and plowed around him.....multiple times.
There is not a 3 to 4 foot snow pile all around the truck.

Can't wait till this moran gets off work and comes for his truck.

On the bad side, I really hope there isn't a fire round here, cuz the fire hydrant is now ringed in by 4 foot snow piles and a truck.

Been snowing since around 12:45. We've got some accumulation. I really miss snow, so I'm loving this. I understand it's a pain for people in the Portland metro area, but it's so rare. It'll, most likely, be gone by tomorrow. Right now, I'm in heaven.

Hiya, all.

DannyBrandt: Drizly does booze delivery. I use them on the regular. (I dunno if it's against the rules, but if any of y'all try it out and use promo code otzkg you get $5 off, and I get $5 for the referral. If it's against the rules to post that, plesae let me know.) They brought booze to me when I was living at the hotel last year. Should have a pretty decent array of options for you. As for the hotel, them not having any sort of food option is really striking. I've been in a number of hotels since the pandemic, and all of them either had minifridges or some sort of "marketplace" in the lobby where you could purchase foodstuffs that were nuke-able. May I ask what the brand name of the hotel is? I'm a travel agent still, and would use the information well. Cuz that's some bullshiat right there. Grub Hub, Postmates, Food Dudes, Door Dash, etc will have to be your best friends. There's some damned good food in the city of Newark, but how close those places are to EWR I couldn't say. (What I CAN say is that if it was made known to me what hotel you were in AND the room number, I would absolutely send you dinner, or lunch, or whatever your poor jet-lagged brain was wanting, and I bet I'm not the only one. EIP)

General update: The rash is still here. GP wanted me to let the rheumatologist know, so I've done that.

Kees: I'm sorry to hear about Barkley. Great name, gorgeous boi.

People have been asking what the opposite of doomscrolling is. I have it on good authority (by which I mean that I read it on Twitter) that the term is "gleefreshing".

And now I'm off to go catch up on Pol tab.
