Good.

Good, but too bad it's not going to include Josh Hawley, or Ted Cruz, or Steve Bannon, or any of the House members who prepped the insurgents.

This. Some little people will go away and the real instigators will point to it as having "done something"

I'm hoping that a number of these people will flip and provide more evidence when faced with 20 years in prison.  I'm also hoping that a number of these indictments include evidence that can be used in the impeachment proceedings.

Members of Congress can't be charged for speech on the floor or by extension any speech that pertains to potential Congressional actions. They can be charged for providing tours / or other material support.

But maybe some of their followers will realize they got thrown to the wolves by the Republicans and stop following the GOP.

Okay, yeah, I know they won't ever realize how bad they were duped, but still, there's a chance.

Is there some reason the House couldn't just impeach Cruz, Rubio, et al for their roles in the treason party?

They didn't clue in all the other times they were duped so I'm not holding my breath.

I mean 400,000+ people have died from the pandemic and Republicans range from "It's not that bad" all the way to "it's a hoax created by the chinese!". Nothing is real unless it happens to them personally.

There's every indication that they had inside help from somone(s).

I wouldn't be surprised if one of the people indicted agreed to name names for leniency

No matter what, she'll never be employable again.

Every employer nowadays looks into your social media and if she doesn't go to prison, she will go right back to the seditious groups where she felt "wanted" and "at home."

Or she gets hired and within 3 months a coworker figures out who she is and tells HR or the boss, who will not want their customers finding out they've hired a Jan 6 2021 seditious rioter.

Firings have already begun for these folks and they'll never wash off trump's stink.

This Disc is a smaller, duller, place without Sir Pratchett.

I will miss his outrage at the world, so often dismissed as 'fantasy humour' books, by people who have never actually read them.

If the outcome doesn't result in the military rounding up all the Nazi republicans and Republican Nazis in a great purge of at least 70 million sent to the uranium mines, the outcome is insufficient to have a lasting peace.  Only when the purge of the Nazis happens, will we have a new age of Aquarius.  Anbinfinte time of peace, love, and the unity of the Borg hive mind.  (Not the monarchist retcon.  The pure democracy of the original Borg hive mind.)

Right, because it's not useful to try and hold a POTUS accountable for their role in trying to overthrow the government.

I goddamned hope you aren't being serious.

Simple Senate majority can (will) decide that Trump is barred from public office.

That sorta castrates Trump in a political sense.

Although, it would really show those liberals if Republicans protested by writing in Donald Trump on their ballots.

Our justice system is happy to let MAGA Chad, assistant manager at Auto Zone hang for his seditionist BS, but the big-money, powerful people that bankrolled his DC trip are going to walk away free.

Trump, Hawley, Cruz, Clarence Thomas' wife, who literally bought bus tickets for these assholes...they're all just chilling.

You can't impeach members of Congress. Each chamber has control of it's own membership. It takes a 2/3s vote to remove a member. We have a better chance of shaming them into resignation.
