I need dental work, this mask let's me talk in public

I'm wearing nothing underneath my mask, so I'm getting a big kick out of this.

I noticed a huge drop in my allergies during the spring & fall.  If I have a mask that fits and doesn't fog up my glasses, it's great.

They're terribly comfortable.  In the future I expect everyone to wear them

I enjoy that other people do not stop to stare and then laugh, anymore.

1.  Mask, shades.
2.  Nondescript Toyota.
3.  Profit.

Same here with the allergies, I hardly ever had to use Flonase.
Haven't found a mask or a trick to stop glasses from fogging though, it sucks. Periodically I'll breathe out of my mouth, with my jaw mimicking a severe overbite, just to stop refogging for a few minutes after wiping them off.

Seems like celebrities would like it.

They get back some of their life before they became famous.

I got some nice soft masks and I don't mind wearing it when I have to.. but I won't miss them when they're collecting dust in my underwear drawer.

Though, I don't expect that to be for a while yet.

I love not seeing customers' faces. And since I got the Rona, I haven't really smelled them either.

I drink a lot and find no one notices my incredibly alcoholic breath when I am in public and shopping now.

I'm surprised you didn't know that, or did I just blow your cover ?

I didn't have any colds or sinus infections or random bugs, in addition to the drop in allergy issues.  Plus I am somewhat anonymous now.  All very very good.

I've got asthma that makes it tough to breathe in cold weather.  It sucks because I live in Michigan.
I've found it easier to breathe in the cold if I'm wearing a mask. I guess its because I'm breathing in my own warm breath to some extent.

Other than that, I don't like wearing them.

I've found that mine don't keep me as warm as I had hoped. But still helpful.

After wearing one for 10 hours a day for close to a year now, I have kind of gotten used to them, like how a didn't wear a seat belt until it was enforced, and now I can't imagine driving without one.

RolandTGunner: Wearing a mask means never having to trim your nose hair...

Disagree with that. I have to trim my nose and ears every two days. Like shaving. Otherwise the hairs tickling will not let me sleep.

I like knowing that facial recognition software is getting screwed over by all the masks on so many faces.

Also, if my eyes don't give me away, I can usually fool people into thinking I'm really interested in them and whatever they're blathering about.  They can't see the grimaces, smirks, or slack jaw responses I have to most of them.

The wind chill was about 10 degrees a few weeks ago and my mask was awesome.  I wish I had a mask when I lived in Chicago.

I wear a P-100 respirator whenever I go into stores and the little kids point and laugh. I could care less, because I will be alive before I die of old age, and infect every one around me with the covid-19

For you guys that don't know, the whole purpose of a mask is to limit your out breath to protect others and also limit the germs you breath in.  A respirator has a valve that freely does not filter your out breath.

FTFA: "For introverts, it can feel great that you don't have to talk to people you don't know that well, but in the long run, when you get out of your comfort zone and challenge yourself... [you might form] a really fulfilling or positive relationship,"

Because we're social idiots who don't know how any of this works. F*ck off.

Farking nose hairs. Me too and man, are they irritating. I also have to shave my arms to sleep and my daughter laughs at me for that.

I was gonna say I think I would have liked having a mask to wear when I lived in the frozen midwest.

Here in NoCal? Ehh.

Cause then the hot chicks at the grocery store can't see me creepily licking my lips while staring at their ass.

"Wearing a mask is 'freeing up really valuable cognitive resources'"

I guess that doesn't count for the people who refuse to wear one

I'm an introvert and don't like my face so I like to wear them. Plus they keep me warm in the winter, breathing that hot air into them.

You need a metal strip that pinches the bridge of your nose.

If you can't find a self-adhesive one, stitch a sufficiently bent staple into your mask to do the same thing.

Given that mass surveillance is a New World Order control mechanism, I gladly mask up.
Fark their facial recognition.

Yeah, the masks help my allergies, and I don't have to shave quite as much before leaving for work.  Of course, I don't wear masks to bed, and then I start wheezing.

The masks also make people more attractive.. perhaps including myself, though it's hard to judge such things.

*checks fark handle*  Hmm, one aspect of that doesn't seem to check out.

I do like an anonymity.  Walked right by a cousin in Kroger and he didn't know who I was.  One of those cousins that you avoid like the plague.  I like the irony.

Yeah, the masks suck... My nose ran like crazy when it was just the lockdown, but chemo has denuded my nose completely of hair, which seems to have 3 main purposes:
1. It serves to filter what goes in to your nose.
2. It helps trap mucus so it doesn't just pour out of your nose like it currently does for me.
3. It helps you feel when your nose is running.

As a result, I'll have a soggy mask 10 minutes after putting it on. So yeah, they suck, but so does dying of Covid.

"...and he sometimes worried about what other pedestrians were thinking of him - wondering whether they were judging his clothes or his appearance"

Some people over value themselves. You probably aren't so special. Unless you are in something particularly outrageous everyone else is busy thinking about their own personal things, their social media account, or about how good they may or may not look in what they themselves are wearing. Try and remember, people are generally too self obsessed to even notice you.
