I work in a government lab and you'd be amazed at the number of tattoos above the collar I see every freakin day, Subby. Given not usually facial, but below the ear or otherwise on the neck? Yep.

/just sayin'
//but who cares if we can be identified I guess

couldn't he have used his face tattoo money to get that eye brow fixed?

At some point, the tat fad will fade, and people without body markings will be the edgy ones.  I'll be too old to enjoy it, but it will be funny listening to people trying to remember how to describe somebody with no unusual characteristics.

So what I'm hearing is, wear fake face tattoos when you're committing a crime on camera.

In before someone insists that their tat is totally different because it's meaningful to them and reminds them of something that's so very important, just not important enough to remember without a prompt.

One hundred percent incorrect.

Would you like me to find you half a dozen high-grade government scientists etc with Zia tattoos on their neck because I can do that in about five minutes.

Give me fifteen and I can present you with probably several dozen professional craft workers.

It's my understanding that the Zia symbol is a sacred part of the Xia Pueblo's culture. Have you ever heard of anyone being upset by its use? And you mention scientists. Is that a fad amongst scientists in New Mexico? These are honest questions, I am truly fascinated. I live in New Jersey where you have to get a tattoo of a Camaro or they beat you up.

cherryl taggart: tat fad

Yes, this flash-in-the-pan, blink-and-you'll-miss-it fad of permanent bodily markings. Millennials these days, am I right? Where did they ever come up with the idea?

Think I've interviewed 30+ people in the last 3 years or so for about 10 roles at the bank I work for.  2020 was difficult due to the pandemic and having to use Zoom, but at this point I'm going to guess I passed on 4 people with visible tats (hands and necks - no actual face tats), and 2 guys who thought it was a good idea to drop F bombs and other office-inappropriate language during interviews.  Poor decision skills aren't an attractive quality in candidates.

As everyone knows, banks are where people work when they have an allergy to personality.

I like our otherwise faceless local branch specifically because some of the tellers and one of the bankers have hand or arm tattoos. They are all dressed professionally and do not drop f-bombs. (You definitely shouldn't hire people who don't understand appropriate language. Your tattoo prejudice could be reflected upon.)

I have never seen a tattoo that I would want to keep my entire life. I've considered getting a Cubs tattoo but I figured that would be a sure way to guarantee the team will announce the very next day it is leaving town to move to another city. Ditto for my beloved Rancho Cucamonga Quakes. And having to explain what the teal "Q" stands for. (I'm gay, so not a big deal, but it would get repetitive.)

How long ago set up an "impulse savings account": I would take the money I was going to spend on something stupid like a tattoo and put it in the bank and that was my Christmas/gifts savings account money. The first year I remember thinking I was surprised at how many stupid ideas I had had during that year! More than one mortgage payment stupid. The next year I was a lot smarter.

Learned a valuable lesson on a balcony in Florida one morning.

Police spotters on the beach were pointing at our hotel and everyone gathered on the balcony proceeded to clown them.

5 minutes later police were at the door, rounded everyone up, marched us onto the balcony to be ID and over the radio I heard "naw, none of them are our guy, but run that guy in the pink Hawaiian shirt in, he's a trouble maker"

Lesson? Don't make yourself easy to identify.

Most likely henna.
