Sorry, but keeping an otter as a "pet" just seems cruel to the poor otter (unless, of course, he was rescued/injured and is being rehabilitated).

it maybe that for one reason or another he cannot be returned to the wild.

I hope that's the case in this situation. Still cute, though.

We have some otters that visit the lake near me every so often. Cute as hell but once you've seen them catch and devour a catfish until there are nothing but bones left...yeah, cute little sharp razorlike teeth they have, too.

I am still mentally scarred by what a farker told me they do to baby seals.

Cute otter, but its reaction was "stare". I expected it to jump around or chase them or something.

This is from Hokkaido University.  It certainly is a rescue/rehab otter.   They do fantastic work.
