Not true. You can want a romantic relationship with people of the same gender without wanting to fark them.

Fairly predictable results given the hookup culture.  I know plenty of people (most of whom are smart enough to know better) who forgo the use of protection altogether.  The advent of treatments for HIV and hepatitis have really damped the campaign for safer sex.

Also, the US seems to be diverging into two groups, one which has little to no sexual activity and the other which has lots of activity and many different partners.  The middle appears to be evaporating.  That will definitely screw with the results.

Asexual wouldn't be a sexual identity, by definition, like Gay/Straight/Bi if that were the case.

Just because you want romantic attraction with [someone who is of some sexual identity] but w/o wanting to fark them doesn't necessarily make you Ace.

I have two CDIs.

I'll admit you can meet some pretty cute girls in the STI clinic, but unfortunately I tested negative and didn't need to go back.  They (the staff) seemed to ask lots of drug questions, use slang for needles and stuff.  Never heard those terms.   Must have been "testing" for drug use.   Never had use or  even remember those terms until now.

Not by much. STI's have been gradually increasing since the late 90s-early 2000s. Once HIV and AIDS were no longer a death sentence, people got a lot less stringent about condom use.

Easier as in a better match, not necessarily so WRT the rate of partnering up for the nite or whatever.  Hoein' was still easy AF in all those other decades - it's more of a pickier process now.

The rate of one-nighter partnering has been on the decline for a while FWICR. People expect better matches and don't settle for the kind of dumpy lovin that past generations did.

I seem to remember reading that more than half of sexually active Americans have HPV. I could be wrong.

Farkers're safe then.

From the CDC:
HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI). HPV is a different virus than HIV and HSV (herpes). There were about 43 million HPV infections in 2018, many among people in their late teens and early 20s. There are many different types of HPV. Some types can cause health problems including genital warts and cancers. But there are vaccines that can stop these health problems from happening.
How is HPV spread?
You can get HPV by having vaginal, anal, or oral sex with someone who has the virus. It is most commonly spread during vaginal or anal sex. HPV can be passed even when an infected person has no signs or symptoms.
Anyone who is sexually active can get HPV, even if you have had sex with only one person. You also can develop symptoms years after you have sex with someone who is infected. This makes it hard to know when you first became infected.
Does HPV cause health problems?
In most cases, HPV goes away on its own and does not cause any health problems. But when HPV does not go away, it can cause health problems like genital warts and cancer.
Genital warts usually appear as a small bump or group of bumps in the genital area. They can be small or large, raised or flat, or shaped like a cauliflower. A healthcare provider can usually diagnose warts by looking at the genital area.
Does HPV cause cancer?
HPV can cause cervical and other cancers including cancer of the vulva, vagina, penis, or anus. It can also cause cancer in the back of the throat, including the base of the tongue and tonsils (called oropharyngeal cancer).
Cancer often takes years, even decades, to develop after a person gets HPV. The types of HPV that can cause genital warts are not the same as the types of HPV that can cause cancers.
There is no way to know which people who have HPV will develop cancer or other health problems. People with weak immune systems (including those with HIV/AIDS) may be less able to fight off HPV. They may also be more likely to develop health problems from HPV

Asexuality is a spectrum.  One can be romantically attracted without having any interest in the physical parts.  Or one can only feel sexually attracted to people after there is an emotional bond.

dbaggins: stoli n coke: dbaggins: Something tells me that an STI survey from 2018 might be wildly inaccurate after 2020.

Not by much. STI's have been gradually increasing since the late 90s-early 2000s. Once HIV and AIDS were no longer a death sentence, people got a lot less stringent about condom use.

If people have been out hooking up and farking around during lockdowns enough to actually push the STI rate higher then a half million dead from COVID seems like a lucky break.

I am told that gonnorrhea and chlamydia rates have skyrocketed in the past year.

Interesting, isn't it?

I am Tom Joad's Complete Lack of Surprise: Well then, we need to double down on Puritanical policies of shame, right Repuglicans?

Getting an STI is just as much, if more a sin than being poor. They unironically show this as more proof of amorality. It's the seat belt costing more lives than it saves argument, but for sex.

You have the herp. You just don't know it.

People... like boning?  And there isn't much else to do when everything is closed?

Almost everyone has herpes type 1, it's just usually asymptomatic. If you have ever had a cold sore and performed oral sex, your partner has herpes.

You probably got it from your parents kissing you on or near the mouth as a baby. Congratulations, you got herpes from your parents.

So people are hooking up outside their bubbles?    during a freaking pandemic?   This is stupid.

I doubt it. I don't know about lately  but earlier Tinder was basically locked down. Traffic was up from everyone using it for entertainment but nobody was meeting. Just chatting until it fizzled out and then they would move on to someone else.

stoli n coke: enry: Before our daughter came out as a gay asexual we got her the shot without thinking twice about it.

How TF does that work?

She dates women but doesn't sleep with them?
Sounds like lesbian dead sex bed from day one and not years later.

Romantically interested in other women; not sexually interested in anyone. Seems pretty obvious.

I have seen people describe themselves as asexual, yet have an active interest in masturbation.  Just no sex with anyone/anything else

So may the gay part just describes the porn channels they browse

/I admit masturbatory asexuals does seem like an odd self-description.
//maybe because saying 'autosexual' led people to think cars were involved
