They are going to be vaccinated, Subby. Otherwise they would not be invited there.

There have been fans in stadiums all season and everything was fine.  The healthcare workers they invited had their shots.  Stop with the pearl clutching.

Protests throughout the summer - No rise in COVID cases, as confirmed by health departments across the country and touted by Fark.

Yes, but it's better.  If you can't have 5000 vaccinated people outdoors with masks and distanced, then what's the point of it?

They are also doing temperature checks and screenings with Covid sniffing dogs.

I'm in Georgia and everything is pretty much back to normal.  Restaurants are packed, but with everyone wearing a mask.  I picked up some food on Saturday at a place that had a wait.  I would say in the last few weeks or so it really took off with everything being packed again.

So whatever.  I stopped being concerned about the risks people choose to take 7 or 8 months ago.  Everyone knows that Covid is real now.  If they choose to take chances, then so be it.  I can just stay home.

The economics of Kansas City fans spending money on the local Tampa Bay strip club and prostitute market is very important to the local economy. It is like their Christmas shopping season and makes or breaks their whole year.

The NFL will never EVER be able to finish a season during the pandemic. I read it on FARK so it must be true.

We are skipping the idea of going to the SB in person this year ( I will be having a couple dozen people over to my driveway in 13 days). Might drop the money and go next year. If I am lucky the weather in KC will be dry and cool, which means my fire pit and propane heaters will have no problem keeping the fans toasty warm. The big screen with projector and legendary bar will take care of the rest.

Also, Tampa strippers are icky

There was a post about this the other day so I'll just copy and paste what I wrote then:

7k of those fans are vaccinated health care workers from across the US.

The Chiefs have had up to 16k fans at each home game this year, and several other teams did as well. No outbreaks reported ever.

The season was completed (save 3 games, but they will be) with a few hiccups, but limited outbreaks considering the number of people. (Edit...1 game now).

It's like people are rooting for COVID when it comes to football.

~95% effectiveness after several months, and protection against more severe symptoms if reinfected.  They'll be masked and distanced.  Everything will be fine.

It's voluntary, free and offered only to healthcare workers who were vaccinated.

If there's ANYONE who deserves a chance to be there, if they do choose, it's these healthcare workers who, once again for those in the back, WERE VACCINATED.

Yes there's a risk. But it's much less risky than to go watch the game at a bar. Or with your friends.

Yeah you know what health care workers need?  To watch football in person.

So what if in the next 2 weeks 45k people will die, we can watch football in person.  These are the things that really matter, which is why college football coaches get paid more than any academic.

Never change USA.  The world needs reminding that despite all the wealth and opportunities in the world, you can still fark it all up while also pretending nothing happened at all as if the whole world didn't just see that.

While the game itself may not be all that bad in terms of spreading, the whole health care thing is akin to giving a pepperoni pizza party for the staff instead of a raise.  Then bashing the people annoyed by it as being stupid vegetarians.

It's less about focusing on one specific game, and more about how this country focuses on paying college football coaches far more than the folks meant to prevent/manage/work a pandemic, who would then make it possible to watch football games in person like normal.

I think what healthcare workers would prefer is to have only 10k deaths in between now and the game instead of something like 45k, at least as a starting point, which is incredibly sad.

Anyways the virus is a hoax, it'll be gone for two weeks and the election was a fraud.

And why would folks wonder if the folks who managed to become #2 in the world for Covid cases per rate despite all the warning and wealth to prevent such measures, would they'll fark it up further?

Aren't you guys still sort of in Iraq because some Saudi's killed as many people as one day of Covid?

The capital was stormed a few weeks ago by a bunch of yokel yahoo's who simply waltzed in.

Forgive me if despite the relative safety of this event, I don't quite give America the benefit of the doubt anymore.  At least in terms of priorities.

I get what you're saying but it isn't as if those in the medical profession are being snatched off the streets on their way to punch in. Does it even cover a real "thank you?" No, of course not, as you essentially said. For those that are able to go I see no real downsides to having a nice thing done for them however.

They need something bad to happen to validate their six months' worth of embarrassingly lame virtue signaling. The alternative (which is even worse) is to be happy that the NFL managed this so well.  Can't have that.

Will the 45000 people perish because a few healthcare workers from NFL cities go to a football game? Or, will not one single extra person will die and the healthcare workers will get a much needed break after a year in hell?

Covid death rate in Georgia is at an all time high and the people dying arent the ones "taking the risk". You are literally killing people because you're too selfish to deal with inconvenience.

In the last 6 months, hundreds of thousands of Americans have died needless, painful deaths because folks aren't taking this seriously. Football is definitely an example of the lack of seriousness.

Bullshiat. There were plenty of people not wearing masks during the protests.

These games are private events where stadiums and the league can set rules and remove people for not wearing masks.

I'm assuming elderly people with medical conditions that put them in group 1a will not be interested in going to the game.  I'm assuming not enough younger people will get vaccinated prior to the game to make anyone say that group is vaccinated.

I'm waiting on a meeting, so lets break this idiocy down even more.

1) You realize these medical workers are going on their time off, right? The NFL isn't going into hospitals and pulling people off their shifts to attend the game in scrubs. The "45k people will die" assertion is useless in this context because they're gonna die whether these medical professionals go to the Super Bowl or not.

2) Healthcare workers don't NEED to watch Football in person; but I'm sure the ones going are happy to be able to see a Super Bowl in person and want to go. If they didn't, they could have just told the NFL they didn't want to go or suggested a co-worker who might.

3) College coaches get paid more because they bring in tens or hundreds of millions of dollars of revenue, sponsorship and advertising to the university. When somebody wants to televise Professor Morrison's Cultural Studies course, complete with pre and post-course commentary and commercial breaks, maybe with sponsor's l logos all over the lecture hall and visible to the cameras, then maybe we can talk about raising his salary. Until then, the argument is stupid.

4) What the actual fark are you talking about after "Never change USA." Serious "old man shouting at clouds" vibes.

5) I"m sure they would love raises, probably would love a pizza party too. But since the NFL can't give them raises, they're inviting them to a sporting event millions of people wish they could attend just once in their lives, but never will. They're also giving them flights, hotels and other free stuff too. But sure, lets focus on the one vegetarian who is annoyed by the whole thing (that'd be you).

If there was any scientific data suggesting that attending NFL games and following the applicable protocols presented any significant risk of COVID transmission, you'd cite it.  You aren't.
