MILES DAVIS - Time After Time
Youtube FpZHjvFXprk

Late in life he fell in love with Cyndi Lauper's "Time After Time", performing at almost every show he played.  Here's a version.

David Crosby tells a story of Miles callin him one day, "yo, this is Miles.  Do you mind if I record 'Guinivere'?  I love that song, man."  Croz gives him permission.  years later he runs into Miles and Miles is like, "yo, you wanna get high and come to my place and listent o records?"  Croz:   "do I wanna get high and listen to music with MILES DAVIS?  DUHHHH!!!!"

they go Miles' apt.  smoke up, and  Miles goes, "yo, I'm gonna play 'Guinivere' for you."

Croz says it's a 10 minute or whatever thing and when it ends, Miles is like, "what do you think?" "it's great!  a real honor."

croz in the telling goes, "but, to be honest, I ddin't hear anything that remotely sounded like Guinivere.  He shoulda just called it whatever title he liked.  That song wasn't anywhere near 'Guinivere'!"

"But that said, I like the royalty checks I get for his version. Thanks, Miles!"

I'm listening to the original and his version right now. Holy hell, is it awful to my ears, just absolutely dated. Kind of amazing, really. Sounds like what should be playing during the McDonald's scene in Mac and Me.

Domestic abuse is a heinous act. That being said, your reminder is not at all on topic. Maybe if a humanitarian award were being named for Miles, it would be relevant.

I assume all you fine people parading around on your high horse have stopped listening to the following artists for their egregious personal behavior:

David Bowie
Led Zeppelin
Rolling Stones
Van Morrison
Johnny Cash
Chuck Berry
Jerry Lee Lewis
Frank Sinatra
Richard Wagner
Morrissey/Smiths
James Brown
and on and on.....

He must have been blasted out of his freaking mind. If nothing else, you can distinctly hear where he plays the notes where a singer would sing the name. It kinda jumps out at you, especially if you already know what the song is supposed to be.

Croz-blasted out of his mind!?  Must have been a day ending in 'Y'!

Does this mean we as a society can no longer enjoy the music of Bobby Brown?

So beating the shiat out of your partner is pretty cool with you if the beater can play an instrument.

GOT IT!

And why not, it worked for Lennon
