Good read. I love many of the sheep's milk cheeses I have sampled in Australia and New Zealand. I don't want to argue about cheesy comestibles and imma let you finnish, but French cheeses really is the best Cheesus.

"Now, I'm going to ask you that question once more. And if you say no, I'm going to shoot you through the head. Now, do you have any cheese at all?"

Shop owner: "No." (customer shoots cheese shop owner)

What's with all these cheese links?  Is there a big marketing push from the Cheese Council?

Australian cheese wasn't much in the past but in the last generation, like craft beer, craft products have taken off. I'm sure we're still a long way behind a lot of places but our dairy industries are widespread and thus a lot of craft cheese producers can access very fresh local milk across the bits of southern Australia which get a good rainfall.

McLaren Vale is ten minutes drive from my place, a great wine growing region but also developing a reputation for craft cheese, this joint is a lot of fun if ever you're in the area and want a break from wine....
