Trump forced the entire party to rebuild itself with him as the core. Now that he caused an insurrection and lost most of his political capital, the party has fallen to infighting and failure. Especially with his threats to form a third party

Well guess he has to run on his record. Maybe he can pray that Trump kicks it in the next two years and his kids go to jail.

Oh no: how will we know which way the wind is blowing without Marco Rubio?

But anyway...

2021-01-25 4:15:35 PM
Marco Rubio shouldn't be elected due to his response to the Pulse nightclub shooting, alone.

That's really the only reason anyone should need.

It's weird that the GOP never thinks "maybe I should BROADEN my appeal to get votes"

2021-01-25 4:16:56 PM
No matter what they do, they'll piss off half their base. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.... then how about doing what's RIGHT for a change?

Impeach the bastard.  You know you want to.

Because he's been doing anything to redirect them?

"Sure, I robbed that bank of a million dollars, but if you arrest me and try me for my crimes, it'll really upset my family who doesn't want to see me go to jail."

"Well, I guess we can't very well let that happen. No charges will be pressed against you. Enjoy your million dollars."

yeah they're doing just miserably, they control the media, the judiciary, multiple state government trifectas, and even Congress despite losing the last election

What a farking turdbag shiathole.

Second, I look back at the time, for example, Richard Nixon who clearly committed crimes and wrongdoing and in hindsight, we would all agree that the president's pardon was important to move forward and history held Richard Nixon quite accountable for what he did as a result.

Except the fact that because we didn't hold criminals like Nixon and ROGER STONE accountable, they went ahead and did the same things again.

He knows this.

He just wants to stay in power more than he wants to do the right thing.

Up side for little Marco, more time for foam parties with the fellas down at the club!

Howe about this idea, Marco Farking Rubio...

Obey your oath to the Constitution of the United States and do the right thing no matter the political cost.

Crazy idea, huh?

Really, it'd be their best option. The sooner the better actually. People have short memories. He'll be long forgotten by the end of this year, long before midterm elections. Dragging it out will only cause more damage.

I still remember the form letter I got from Rubio explaining why he wouldn't vote to convict Trump after the first impeachment.

Some of the capitol cops would be alive today if Republicans had excised the cancer early. Now they are still fighting to keep the cancer alive.

NateAsbestos: It's weird that the GOP never thinks "maybe I should BROADEN my appeal to get votes"

Their donors pay them not to broaden their appeal. It's better to just barely lose the occasional election. They literally want to win with the least amount of votes possible.

And Nixon suffered no real consequences. He retired to a life of quiet luxury.

That's "justice" according to the GOP.

NateAsbestos: It's weird that the GOP never thinks "maybe I should BROADEN my appeal to get votes"

They did. All those MAGA voters used to be non-voters and white working class unionized Democrats who weren't up with the times enough to realize that the GOP wasn't just the party of management and bankers and insurance agents anymore. Once the GOP had a candidate who spoke their language, they picked up a whole bunch of voters.

2021-01-25 4:27:56 PM
What fresh hell!
I guess Joe McCarthy AND Dick Cheney are now correct. There's a massive Russian invasion, they groomed Americans as sleeper agents and aggressively financed/bribed the people who should've been on the lookout.

It's time to treat the foreign linked terrorists like foreign linked terrorists.

Start by freezing bank accounts.

God this. Who "agrees" that we should have let Nixon off the hook other than all the people in his orbit who have been committing crimes during all 4 GOP administrations since?

God I hope he forms a 3rd party.  All the MAGAts will go with him, and some of these chuds like Rubio will probably have to follow them.  The sooner the whole lot of them are relegated to the dunce corner the better.

Actually, that's exactly right.

To Republicans, justice is being caught committing a crime, but then being absolved of any wrongdoing and able to enjoy the fruits of your crime.  Laws are only for the little people, you must understand.

Also:

"Sure, I tried to rob the bank for everything inside including your money, but I was stopped before I could get away with most of the loot."

"Well that makes sense, he wasn't a 100% successful bank robber and he only stole from the people we don't like so have a great day and be on your way.

Is there anyone in politics right now more pathetic than Marco Rubio?

Any Fark "Independents" or conservatives want to chime in if you actually like this guy?

As I see it, one of the most unifying forces today is everyone on both sides thinks he is weak and pathetic.

His career has been slowly imploding since the 2016 GOP primaries.

Can they both lose and Florida forfeit a senator?  Cause if that is what it takes, I'm ok with that.

While they are all pathetic in their own ways, I think Cruz is likely to get the GOP Presidential Nomination in 24 or 28 and will remain a force to be reckoned with, and Graham is clearly sticking with the Trump/MAGA/Seditionists for a while.  Both seem likely to be around for a while as they side with the crazy base.

Rubio seems to flap in the wind like a Paul Ryan who wasn't smart enough to get out while the optics were good and now looks like he could get primaried by Ivanka.  The GOP base seems to hate him for not being a raving mad lunatic, the moderates hate him for being too spineless to stand up for old conservative principals.

Marco...people will remember that you sided with treason weasels. And, yeah, you just may wake the sleepers to vote you out, along with the them that didn't think that your analingus skills were on full display.

Maybe you shouldn't have chosen to support sedition, you wee tiny coward.

fark Marco Rubio.

He's pretty high up on the list of Republicans I'd like to see lose their seats. Not the top spot, but he's in the top ten.
