Last two on Alive! and first three on Destroyer(played in that order) are not better than Honky Tonk Women, Gimme Shelter and Brown Sugar in any order.

I've never heard or seen an interview where Gene Simmons wasn't an insufferable d-bag.  Mick, OTOH, has been pretty consistently charming and funny and light-hearted.  He was also already jogging around the neighborhood a week after open heart surgery last year.

In a cage match to the death, my money's on Mick.

He's right about drug use, but I don't think sobriety did much for him outside of making him boring.

And those other bands don't have to wear absurd outfits on stage because they aren't gimmick bands trying to sell "air guitar strings" to idiot fans.

Same years for me and back then I bought a lot of records and tapes and the only band I can think of that I didn't a single one of their albums was Kiss.
When I was 12 someone gave me a Kiss cassette for christmas and luckily for me it still had the price tag on it so I was able to return it for a different tape.
In high school there were a bunch of kids all excited to hop on a bus and travel 200 miles to go to a Kiss concert and they couldn't believe I didn't want to go.
No interest what so ever and I agree with the others that have said that anytime they've seen Gene on TV he's been a real jackass.

Alice Cooper sucks, too. If I want theater I'll go to a play. I prefer music.

The only clownshow band I have any respect for is Twisted Sister, and that's purely for sentimental reasons - I got their first couple LPs in my early teens, so songs like Burn in Hell and Captain Howdy were kind of soundtracks to my juvenile delinquency.

I did not stay away from Captain Howdy, but I never let him kick my ass, either.

No, I went back out to the parking lot with a couple friends and worked on the rest of the beer until our Kiss fan friends came out. It was a free ticket to me, so I didn't care. It was literally farking annoying watching those idiots be corny on stage.
