So...the rate of serious injuries over the summer, including head and neck shots, was disproportionately high? Gee, I wonder why?

There was a cop thread earlier today about a police car that zoomed through a crowd of people,  and a handful of Farkers got their stink all up in that thread with "NoT AlL CoPs," and "wElL wHaT ElSe aRe ThEy SuPpOsEd tO Do?!"

I just want to reiterate: fark the police, and fark you if you think thoroughly dismantling this crooked institution and replacing it with something more democratic and community driven is too radical.

I will concede that buying a Tesla is not the worst example of police excess... But it's still annoying that they're buying one in a state where school teachers notoriously have to buy their own supplies.

Farking this. Police budgets are massively overblown, way too many sensitive responsibilities (such as 'responding to any kind of mental health crisis' or 'anything that requires deescalation') are piled on the shoulders of people who are not properly trained to handle them, and there are nowhere near enough resources going to address the actual root causes of crime (ie poverty, poor treatment of ex-cons, and a lack of a social safety net in general).

And?  Teslas cost less over the lifetime of as vehicle, especially one with heavy use.

Fine with defunding the police, just confused by the Tesla reference.

Speaking as a white gay man, those other whites started it. I'd be happy to be less terrible to people but they have to stop being terrible to me first--otherwise, this is essentially the same call for "unity" the Repuicans are pushing.

The fact that it can be shown that these police took no effort to minimise the damage of these weapons, rather using them specifically with the intend of causing damage, shuld be a criminal indictment on these pigs.  Excessive force at the least.

Will it matter to municipalities when they get called into a conference with their Governor and the President?

I have a feeling that people will be upset about the speed of progress, given the sanctity of the Filibuster.

Biden's solution will mirror what Obama's response would have been; use the power of his office to help build bridges.

Unless he acts like a fark, that is also possible. Out of character, but also possible.
