Good choice of song, subby.
There are a lot of more popular songs than the one I'm posting, this one also has some crowd interaction. This could be my most favorite.

I have seen Neil in concert many times and caught his very last tour ever. He did look like he'd lost a step or two (damn Parkinson's) but he can still belt it out like he is 25.

The list of Neil Diamond songs I love is pretty long.

Girl, You'll Be a Woman Soon
Holly Holy
Play Me
Song Sung Blue
Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show
Cracklin' Rosie
Sweet Caroline
Cherry, Cherry
Solitary Man
Thank the Lord for the Nighttime
Kentucky Woman

However, for my money, one of his best songs isn't one he recorded himself -

My dad was a huge Neil Diamond fan until, as my dad put it, he sold out singing that damn song about a space alien. Dad still loved the old stuff but never bought a Neil Diamond album again.

When you've got Diamond and Carole King on your songwriting team, you could probably have a band of literal Ceboidea and still get a good music product.

Hearing Neil Diamond songs reminds me of all the road trips my family did when I was young. We often went on long trips in the car out west. Besides visiting family in Colorado, we'd go to many places in Wyoming, Montana, Utah, and took a long trip from Wyoming to LA one year. In the winter it would be a 3 hour morning ride to Jackson to ski. We did lots of weekend trips there. My dad would make cassettes from his albums to take in the car. Neil Diamond, Simon and Garfunkel, Kenny Rogers, ABBA, and some others. My dad usually would only play his stuff in the car. Every once in a while my brother and I got to play something different.

Hearing his songs playing, and I go back to all those trips. It's like I'm in the backseat, hot from the sun, my legs getting burned by the hot vinyl seats. Why did I wear shorts again? Thinking next time I'll remember to grab a towel to sit on in the car, but I almost never did.

They say the pun is the lowest form of humor. But whoever said that never heard my pirate jokes.

What did the pirate captain say on his 80th birthday?
Aye, matey!

I also remember falling asleep in the back seat during road trips with family, listening to Neil.

Best I could do on short notice.  I know there's a better version out there, probably the demo that Kirschner took for the Monkees.  Probably on the Bang Years compilation or maybe Stages, I can't put my finger on it just yet.  I'll find it later, I hope.

Long live the King of the three chord progression!

When he was asked about success, Neil once said that hearing his favorites cover his creations was all he ever needed to know success.  He then listed Johnny Cash, Elvis, Frank Sinatra, and Waylan Jennings.

My MIL had Alzheimer's and lived with us for her final 7 years. Towards the end she became less responsive and involved, just sort of staring blankly at the TV. She always seemed to perk up if there was a musical on TV so one day while searching through Prime I found The Jazz Singer. It was a crappy movie but I thought she might enjoy it.

As soon as the first song started she lit up and started singing along. This woman who barely spoke and would sometimes have angry outbursts because she still knew at some level that her mind was going was singing along to "Love on the rocks". My wife and I were stunned, amazed and happy. When the movie ended we put a Diamond playlist on Spotify and she sang along, remembering a surprising amount of the lyrics.

She died about 3 months later. At her wake we played this piece:
