I would be really surprised if brett I like beer and his lies about gambling debts and his perjury to the Senate along with Thomas supporting the insurrection with planning and money stay on the Court until this fall. Biden should get 3+ picks for SCOTUS in his term.

Why do you say that?  It would be pretty hard to toss these guys as they would need 17 Republicans in the Senate to convict.  We're not even certain that there's gonna be 17 Republicans to convict Trump, and he tried to overthrow the government with a mob of morons.

Being a Justice does not means they cannot be arrested. Brett committed criminal actions and Thomas and his wife assisted in the insurrection  thomas's wife should be arrested for sure  and his stepping down after.

Yeah, they can be arrested and convicted via the legal system but that won't mean they're removed from the Bench.  So you'll have these guys voting on cases from a minimum security facility in Maryland?  What difference would it make?

How the fark are Dump's tax returns back again?

They punted last year and basically said the lower court's ruling stands.

After getting people money and getting vaccination under way, doing something about the Supreme Court needs to be our next order of business.  It's not going to help trying to improve things in this country if a bunch of theofascists can just overrule anything they want and generally make life even more of a living hell for marginalized Americans.

As someone said already, they're just batsh*t crazy enough to do so.

And I even expect them to go above & beyond by also ruling that the legislature cannot make it legal or Constitutional in any way without permission from the SCOTUS.

I read somewhere a couple of days ago that Trumps appointments to the Supreme Court might be rendered invalid because Trump was/is such an incorrigible tax cheat.

If Merrick Garland is the new AG, he's not going to investigate Kegbro or Clarence Thomas (and any chance they'd resign). The optics would look bad considering he was denied a Supreme Court position by Moscow Mitch. It'd look like political revenge.

They already see themselves as being above the matters of the rabble.

See the way they steamrolled all of the federal executions before Trump left office.  It was a goddamned travesty of justice.

Unfortunately, no. Look up "De Facto Officer." Even if we proved that the Russians absolutely stole the 2016 election, he was still President and all his actions as President remain in force.

I know about this because I used to debate Birthers gloating that just as soon as Obama was proven to be not a Natural Born Citizen, then all his actions as President including SCOTUS appointments as well as "Obamacare" would be "null and void." Nope. Doesn't work that way.

Transgender men also need access to abortion, while trans women don't.  It's not a gender issue--it's a plumbing issue.

Maybe if they get their Hate together they can make a law that allows aborting brown and black babies but not white ones.  White ones have to be born and turned over to the MAGA army headquarters for miseducation and training.

I've seen this movie before.  Showing my age, but I was alive when Reagan nominated Anthony Kennedy and Sandra Day O'Connor to the bench.  SCOTUS had the votes to overturn it then, but refused.   It's possible that they'll pull the trigger, but look at it in political terms:  suddenly finding themselves out of power, the GOP will desperately need to once again dance the abortion carrot before their faith-full folks.  Anything getting done before 2024 seems like a pipe dream.

Want to take heroin? Go ahead. Want to cut off your dick? Go ahead. Want to have 5 dicks? Go ahead.

This whole abortion thing is total bullshiat. It would be like saying if the church says tumors and cancer are the work of god (and according to them since god does everything, its his doing), then cancer treatment and tumors removal should be illegal or something. I mean, tumors and cancer are as alive as 4 weeks old fetuses are.

Religious people and their bullshiat beliefs need to be told to fark off. This is 2021, science is king, we arent farking cavemen anymore believing in imaginary friends in the clouds. If you are, you have mental issues and you should be strapped to a bed with meds shoved down your throat till you realise its all bullshiat.

The GOP aren't political masterminds capable of long term consequences. They're a cult. They will absolutely overturn Roe v Wade without a moment's hesitation and shift any and all blame to the Democrats. They're a dog chasing a car. They won't know what to do once they actually catch it. They know 70 million Americans support their cause to outlaw abortion, or at the very least don't consider it a dealbreaker to voting Republican. There's no foresight to anything they do.

Back in High School civics (probably as reliable as wiki), the teacher mentioned that impeaching (+removal) of a judge largely meant that they wouldn't get a judges salary after they had been thrown in jail.  I suspect that there is plenty of precedence for district (possibly appeals) judges, and SCOTUS would work the same way.

Then what will the GOP have left to run on for their platform in 2024? Preservation of Civil War statues, screwing over the LGBTQ+ crowd and trickle down economics?   They came extremely close to overthrowing democracy itself due to a blinding desire to stay in power, so don't put it past these people to exert heavy pressure up to and including blackmail in order to change the opinion of a justice or two.  It HAS happened before.

Having a platform is not a prerequisite for winning elections as a Republican.
