That's right. Frank Stallone.

It led off with "Those uppity punks at Rent-a-Center who think they're better than me."

It would be funny as hell if the republicans protect trump during impeachment and he forms the patriot party and goes after them anyway.

It keeps surprising me the republicans can't seem to grasp what a cancer Trump is and continues to be. Flush him already.

Wouldn't that threat be an incentive for Republicans to vote to impeach and convict Trump and bar him from ever holding office again?

I don't understand Trump's 4d chess skills.

I was thinking the same thing.  If Trump goes ahead with this Patriot Party nonsense, and the GOP sees this as a threat, they'd just be more likely to vote to convict just so they could then vote to bar him from holding future office.  It wouldn't stop him from pushing ahead with this Patriot Party anyway, but then it would be strictly to farm other primary candidates against his enemies, and not for himself.  But somehow that seems a bit too perversely selfless for him, even if it means potential revenge against some of his enemies by proxy, because it means he won't have a chance at getting any revenge personally, nor regain any of his own political power.  Trump is not the kingmaker type.

Great, now I hate the word patriot.

Number one is John Barron himself. In my eyes no one has said and done so much damage as the man nicknamed Barron von Clownstick to take down not just Trump but the entire brand, and he was compteting with Uday, Qutsay, and Javanka.

On a side note on the day Biden was sworn in I felt like the word patriot was reclaimed or repatriated one might say. So much for that, patriot will carry a permanent stench to it in the same way tea party does.

Well, they haven't grasped what a cancer conservatism is yet, so maybe don't hold in to hope...

The best part is that, since we've already established that Trump never remembers a favor and never forgets a slight, the GOP could vote down his conviction and he'll still go after the people on his list.

The GOP's dilemma is between religious lunatics (who all hate each other too), white supremacists, far right nationalists, demographic erosion of their base, single issue gun/abortion voters, and Trump they're basically in this position now:

Also, this is trump we're talking about. He'll probably just claim he's running in 2024, not even get on the ballot, and his cultists will try to vote for him anyway, he'll declare he won, and then repeat, ad nauseum until he dies.

The rest of us can just sort of carry on, while the republicans bleed voters.

They ask young men to go and die for their country.  And despite the fact that they have a pension and millioins they wouldn't dare to challenge a man that will kill our nation.

If this leverage tactic works, our democracy is going to die.  You know that right?  he's going to come back, or his successor will. If that occurs, they won't fail the second time.

You would think these chumps read The Prince.  He's rallying, he will return.   It's not over till you've destroyed them utterly.

$70 million?  That's cute.  That's nothing close to what the Republican Party will rake in if he goes through with this.

Trump might be able to grift cash from OAN-watching yokels, but the vast resources of the major corporations that fund the Republican Party will turn against him.

Maybe the Democrats should create a secret dark money PAC to finance the Patriot Party.  This will siphon votes from Republicans and get more Democrats elected. Quick! Put in a call to Soros and Bloomberg.

it's simpler than that:  "if you vote to convict me,I'll raise money to primary you next time around.  Fear me!"

I think their concern is that even if Trump himself isn't on the ballot doesn't mean he can't push Trump party folks, and his kids, as third party challengers in various elections.

Even if he and his backed "patriot party" siphon off "only" the nuttier 10% of the GOP there looking at losing half the legislatures they hold,  around 40+ House seats, around 10 of senate seats, and will be lucky to break 150 EC votes.
