Just that one tweet referenced Maya Angelou, Lou Gossett Jr, and OJ Simpson. I had somehow forgotten that ROOTS basically hired every black actor in America.

Ashelth: Lodger: I have never seen ROOTS.  I feel it's something I should have seen already, and it would probably be worth my time to see, but it just isn't something I feel anxious to see on my own.

Didn't you watch it in high school?

I was in high school in the 80s, so it should have been perfect.  I remember other classes seeing it, but whatever class I was in never showed it (I have no idea what we might have been shown instead).

I remember when it wasn't too much earlier we were still doing film projectors.  Some kid would always have to sit next to it and make sure the film was threading properly.  A big day was when the teacher would play the film BACKWARDS!  It was the height of humor at the time.

"Fun Fact: In the first take of this scene with O.J., I ignored the blocking and during the chase, at the point he was supposed to catch me, I took off. He couldn't catch me! The director, David Greene, scolded me for wasting everyone's time. The Juice needed a 10 min breather," Burton wrote.

That's funny.  OJ still had enough knees left to rush for 1500 yards that year, so he wasn't exactly slow yet.
