Cornyn is just afraid of which party he'll need to cling to in the near future, the Republican Party or the PP party.

Go ahead. It will be so ludicrous, the history books - not to mention the contemporary world will laugh at you.

And if there is one thing that American conservatives seem to have a hard time with, it's not being taken seriously. That, and supporting a loser.

Hey thanks for admitting on camera that the only motivation for a Republican impeachment of a Democratic President is revenge.  I'm sure that won't be useful on a political ad or seventeen.

vudukungfu -A lot of them are going to  Dywer out.

You know ,I had that same thought. I wonder which ones will finally give up...

The Irresponsible Captain: Sometimes I wonder if these guys can dress themselves or if their wives have to do it for them.

It's cute that you think they wake up with their wives in the mornings...  Their wives are miles away.

OdradekRex: Good luck getting that to fly in congress.  Idiot.

Oh, I'd bet he could get over 100 members of the House to sign on to impeaching Obama for crimes against hamburgers and fashion while being black.

The only egregious thing I can think of that a living Democratic President did was lying under oath about a blowjob.

So by all means, Impeach Clinton about that again.

1.) Start with Dubya, the War Criminal.  Drag his election-rigging brother into it if you can, somehow.  Can you impeach governors? Does that vary by state?

2.) Sounds like what would be "best for the country", in your words, Congressman, is for corrupt, treasonous villains like you to farkING RESIGN.  So maybe do that, first.

Like with anything else, if there has been a crime, file a police report. Or, in this case, articles for the House to consider. If not, take your reverse-racism-slippery-slopings-victim bullshiat back to the dorms where it was farking stupid to begin with.

Your base will soon be in the grave, in jail, or find the next Tiger King to keep them busy. Keep pandering.

Excellent idea. I say start with GWB for war crimes.

Oh no!  They're coming after Woodrow Wilson.  Will Polk and Buchanan be in their sights?

Came here for this.

How about we impeach ALL ex-politicians who we genuinely believe committed high crimes.

The idea came to Cornyn over a breath mint as more a fundraising idea than anything else.

Albert911emt: Republicans seem desperate to prevent the airing of Trump's dirty laundry.  I wonder why.

It's less that and more actively threatening the Democrats to either do what the Republicans want or they'll make sure to destroy and obstruct anything and everything the Democrats plan to do for the people of the US.

Once people realize the Republican party has gone full blown fascist and only care about the wealthy and corporate types, then it makes sense why so many of them are acting like common thugs instead of lawmakers.

This could prevent Jimmy Carter from holding office again.

Mithiwithi: Garza and the Supermutants: You know they would. They're the party of grievance, hypocrisy and mindless retribution. They must never be allowed to win again. And Trump still needs to be stopped at all costs. His Patriot Party will end up being the new name for the Republican Party, only it will be even more outright fascist.

And now that the idea is in their heads, they might well do it anyway regardless of whether Trump is convicted or not. The only thing that'll stop them is if there are enough of them (in whatever year they have a House majority) that will have enough sense to realize trying to impeach Obama will absolutely blow up in their face, and trying to impeach Clinton will at least have people laughing "What, again?" And there's a (tragically) fairly high chance Carter won't even be alive by that point, so doing a cadaver synod of him to avenge Trump will make them look even more ridiculous.

Do they REEEEEEALLY want to open that door on W?

They don't care. They probably want that. If every president is impeached, it just becomes background noise and ceases to mean anything.

Trump was still president when he was impeached.

Cornyn won't vote to convict Trump, He just doesn't want to go on record as someone who believes a Republican can do anything with impunity.

Cornyn's a turd.

I always read Sen. John Cornyn as Scottish Earl, John Comyn. The Scots solution seemed to work out okay.

Let's not.

Honestly, Congress probably should Impeach, Convict, and Disqualify former President Bill Clinton over several of his eleventh hour pardons.

However, since he's already ineligible to run, it's probably lower priority than the current impeachment. Perhaps those pardons should be bundled up with former President Trump's eleventh-hour pardons and sent to the House Judiciary committee together, for a possible bill Impeaching them both.
