I guess now when John Krasinski hosts SNL, the only thing he can advertise is that he gets to bone Emily Blunt. What a loser.

This should be a post similar to "Original" in every single delayed movie thread until things are open again. We farking get it, studios - you have no clue how to monetize a digital movie that you know is getting pirated within days of its release. Figure it the fark out or just give up until we're out of this, because you're just killing every damned movie you do this to at this point.

Huh, I thought this had been released. Guess I'll get to not watch it later.

How about pushing it off a cliff? The 1st movie was terrible.

Geez, you guys are so cynical. Maybe it keeps getting pushed back because the effects are terrible and still getting tweaked, reshoots are needed to fix an ending that test audiences hate, and they're waiting for the backlash to blow over from a sex scandal one of the CGI monsters got involved in with a Michael Jackson hologram in Vegas. Just the typical Hollywood delays that everyone's used to.

Tyrone Slothrop: How about pushing it off a cliff? The 1st movie was terrible.

It was fine in a brainless monster movie sort of way. It was basically Tremors but without the charm. Took itself too seriously with a really dumb premise, which is OK once, but IDK about a sequel.

/ I think the characters were supposed to seem really dumb, to take the edge off when they got killed?
// that or the writing was just bad.

Re: really dumb - they found batteries and didn't take them with them?

/Also, all kids toys have to use either a screwdriver or some tool to remove the cover nowadays so little Timmy and Tammy short bus don't accidentally Darwinate themselves.

But it made $360mill on a $20mill budget. Take your bets. I say five theatrical releases, Four more straight to video and then a reboot.

It really was an awful movie. This one actually looks decent just based on the trailer. It appears to be a prequel.

BAD!

Anything that keeps Emily Blunt off a movie screen is bad.

I love Emily Blunt.   Siccario was a great film and she was great in it.  Then she was the best part of an uneccessary Mary Poppins do-over.

And hawt.

Will Nail be in it again? I lived her in the first one. Really knocked it out of the park. Played it prefectly.

This is them giving up until we're out of it. The movie was made before the pandemic.

It could be like The Howling series (there were eight of those).  In each one, werewolves became less supernatural and more like the killers in the Spam in a Cabin horror films.  A Quiet Place could do that -- in each one, the creatures could develop new skills:  AQP III -- the creatures can smell you really well.  AQP IV --the creatures are super touchy-feely and look just like humans.  AQP V -- the creatures are super hackers and send threatening videos over the internet!
. . . and so forth.

Or Tremors, first they were underground sand worms, then they could walk, then they could fly, then they did the prequel. I don't know if they went into space or not, haven't seen them all.

Tremors A Cold Day in Hell is pretty much a remake of The Thing except with graboids:

This makes me so pissed. My little quiet sleepy town (Olcott, NY) is featured prominently in this movie. My parents were all aghast that movie stars were in town and caught several glances of Emily and John. So we've been waiting patiently for over a year now for our moment of fame. It sucks.

It's not a prequel. John's dead in this and he dies in the first movie.

/fark your spoiler alert, it's been years

AQP VI - the aliens are super tasters and spit out all the skinny people they kill because they have no flavor

AQP VII - the aliens have an amazing sense of direction, but the sound of accordions trigger a migration response that forces them to
