Seriously.

"Confirmed positive" isn't quite the same as "sick". How bad it gets for you is completely orthogonal to your political persuasion.

I'm just a mean person, but I really wish that all of those who are denying it would get the worst symptoms.

So, let me get this straight. You think it's funny when people who mock the threat of the coronavirus pandemic end up getting coronavirus themselves?

I do and I am tired of pretending that it's not.

It's really sad to see someone who is Pro Choice forced to carry something to term

It's really simple, Senator. People who respect public health principles and adhere to them are at much reduced chance of getting sick.

Would Republican Senators accept that wearing pants and not just going bottomless is okay? No, they would not. They don't believe in absolute freedom, they are already clear on this. They believe in limited freedom, we've all accepted that. Surely, surely during a time of pandemic, a Christian conservative American would adhere to tradional Christian chat like "real Christians don't tempt God" as Martin Luther essentially said during the plague in Europe. There's nothing hard about that.

This farkwit is no Christian at all, he's just an anti-science idiot who tempted God and got found out. Fark around and find out is never truer than when you're claiming God will protect you and then you refuse to wear a mask. The only possible conclusion is exactly what Martin Luther came to hundreds of years ago - don't tempt God, apply the science God has helped us develop and don't be a dick.

Urrggh **NOT** wearing pants and going bottomless

Typical.  He phrased his objections in self centered language, claiming that it's his choice to make whether or not to risk catching covid.  What about your family?  What about your colleagues?  What about random members of the public that you exposed through your reckless selfishness?

That's what happened with Trump. Heck, he claimed he felt better than before he got the virus!

He made his choice.

Now he damned well better, and we all damned well better demand that he, go home and drown in his own phlegm.

His position caused uncountable deaths among those that saw him as an authority.  Fark. Him.

He doesn't care one bit at all about anyone else. If they catch COVID due to his actions, it's their problem. They should have done better in not getting COVID-19. He'll just offer his thoughts and prayers online, then deny them healthcare insurance.

Good.

I thought that the Inauguration would help the sorrow of my brother-in-law's death from Covid, but instead I can't stop crying about the stupidity of the whole thing.

Ok, Karma, you know what to do, preferably while he's driving to the hospital due to COVID.

I had a ball python for a while while attending university. Beautiful snake, named her Karma. Whenever I fed her I looked at the mouse and said "Karma will get you". And she always did. I guess what I'm trying to say is that karma is a biatch, isn't it.

Republicans are the party of "Me" and Democrats are the party of "US"
Which is why we won, THIS time. But we need to keep the pressure on to throw the book at the ringleaders and make them pay, not just the dumb orcs who they sent up the hill.

"It's my choice if I want to risk getting COVID. Just like I get in a car every day, I could potentially get in a car accident and die."

No, it's more like driving on the wrong side of the highway.  It means you are going to kill someone.  Perhaps not yourself, if you have good airbags, but someone.

2021-01-23 12:54:19 AM
I just found out that several people in my family caught the virus last week.  Two of them are elderly, and one has an auto-immune disorder.  So far, my SO and I combine to know several dozen people who have gotten sick and a few who have died.  Even I thought I had it, though luckily that was just regular pneumonia.  (I've never been so happy to have pneumonia.)

These disgusting plague pigs (the Republicans, not my relatives) say it's their choice to catch it, but why is it not the innocent victims' choice not to catch the virus that the plague pigs insist on spreading?

Remember, this is a new virus.  We DON'T KNOW what the long-term effects are going to be.  We could have millions of people dropping dead from blood clots in the next few years.  This virus could be like shingles in that it hides and comes back.

Screw these plague rats who are intentionally forcing everyone to take potentially deadly risks.  Screw them for the fact that it's been almost a year since I've been to H-Mart.  (I'm too far away for Instacart to deliver from there.)

Eh, i think wrong way driving is a bit hyperbolic here. Drunk driving on the other hand might be spot on.

Think it is only about them? Check.

Not deliberately trying to hurt others? Check.

Way overconfident about their odds? Check.

Likely to get an innocent killed by accident? Check.

Totally responsible for making shiatty decisions? Check.

I'd add: Know that the science has proven their stance is wrong? Check

Figure that since they've gotten away with it before, nothing back will happen this time? Check.

It would be interesting to know how many of these Covidiots have DUIs, and how many each of them has gotten.

It's true that we don't know, but if other endemic human coronaviruses are any indication it'll eventually be just another common cold.  We don't know what happens when elderly people are exposed for the first time to any of the existing coronaviruses, because pretty much everybody has caught all of them by the age of five.  The problem seems to be the newness of this virus, so old people who generally get the sickest don't have any immune system memory to fight it.  It's probable that 20 years from now everybody will catch covid in kindergarten, not get particularly sick, and be relatively protected against it for the rest of their lives.

But again we don't know for certain, so I guess anything is possible.  It might turn people into alto sopranos, or make all of their hair fall out after a year.

Asshole deniers like this are why I got Covid, despite masking and social distancing and celebrating holidays for 1 and zoom for the past year.  Fark him.

Totally didn't think of this one and it is perfect.

I'd bet on a reasonably high correlation between the two, they match a little too perfectly.

Consider also that drunk drivers whose misadventures claim lives usually survive the incidents themselves. Just like how these pricks keep getting "mild" symptoms while the body count climbs.

Since most of the pandemic-deniers are Republicans, I'm hoping their refusal to wear masks will whittle down the size of the party by 30 or 40 percent. Poetic justice.
