Resist the Radical Right, like Hawley, Cruz, etc.
See everyone who supported the insurrection brought to justice.Keep pushing for racial justice.

The list goes on. There's still much to do.

The effective resistance are ending their lawsuits against the federal government and going back to work for it. From what I can tell.

Good read, if frustratingly weak at providing the "how" of what the HK protesters did to turn protest into electoral and policy success (to some degree, at least, as the circumstances were... different), as introduced early in the piece. Aside from "register voters".

I am under the impression that she was hired because she was hot. But she's also a talented actress and ended up being one of the best characters. WHOOPS.

Haha, her husband's desire to be cuckolded is ultimately why Obama was elected President.

Faced with the changes they demanded, protesters wonder what to do with their time.

Progressive groups need to realize a few things: 1). A center-left* government is easier to petition than a far-right government. 2). Nothing at a legislative level will happen overnight. 3). Not everyone will be at the front of the legislative line - that doesn't necessarily mean the issue you care about is dead, or that it will not get it's day in the sun.

Democratic leadership needs to understand the following: REPUBLICANS ARE NOT AND WILL NEVER NEGOTIATE IN GOOD FAITH. GROW A DAMN SPINE AND TAKE THE F*CKING REINS OF POWER WE GAVE YOU.

That is all.

Meh, a bit "concerny,"  but at least a bit hopeful for NPR.

No rebuttal from Jonah Goldberg.

Forgot to annotate my asterisk, so:

*Yes, I understand that center-left for America is not the same as center-left basically anywhere else. Fark does not need to have this argument again.

All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.

We've got the "they're really socialist liberal antifa" articles, and now we have the "But they can't govern" articles.

They're just copying the articles and doing a search-and-replace to put Biden in.

They may have been worried about the reactance of the rest of the Fark community -- I think at least some of their concerns have an imaginary component.

That's the problem all radical groups (of every stripe) eventually encounter when they get anywhere near real power.

They generally know what they don't want.

They rarely have a clear idea of what they do want, much less a realistic plan for getting it.

Neither Lenin nor Trump came to power with any real plans for government. It wasn't long before both Russians and Americans started paying the price for that.

I hereby demand that I be given a Fark account: All this has happened before, and all this will happen again.

*ahem*

Medicare for All. Especially under a pandemic and widening income inequality.

There. One of my policy stances that was the same under Trump as it is under Biden. I don't have to pivot. And neither have offered anything remotely equivalent.

There is more.

Progressives need to understand that conservatives would be just fine if absolutely no new laws were passed in the next ten years, but progressives want change which requires new laws.  Gridlock is the conservative's friend.  Sure, conservatives would like to pass laws to roll things back to the 1950s, 1850s, 1750s, etc. but they can live with no new laws at all.

Similarly, conservatives would be fine with no new judges being appointed, especially after McConnell packed the courts.  As time goes on, judges will retire/resign/die, which just creates a backlogged court, which favors them.

Progressives have to compromise if the want anything, conservatives don't.

There's still plenty of work to do on the state level. The GOP has shifted their main focus to controlling states, and it's working.
