When you are in the hospitality business, it pays to at least appear hospitable.

Why do you think he extended all that Secret Service protection to his family? He NEEDS that revenue at this point, ESPECIALLY with all the lawsuits and indictments that are creeping over the horizon. He's grifted and pocketed as much as he possibly could. You would think that someone in the hospitality business would have wanted to contain a pandemic as quickly and strongly as possible, from just pure selfish self-interest. Pandemic means a lot fewer hotel stays and foot traffic in the lobbies, restaurants and stores. A smarter man would have cracked down on this damn plague just to keep his business interests up and running.

Trump may break the modern mold and actually become poorer after leaving the WH.

4 bankruptcies and facing indictment for a slew of tax and financial violations? Yeah, I believe he's in the hole.

Everything Trump touches, dies.

Not A casino but multiple casinos. As well as a company selling meat to Americans.

This is only the beginning. Before this ends Trump is going to wish that bankruptcy was his only problem.

anyone who knew of him before his tall tale rise in right wing media knew him as a joke, a schiester, and con.  An inept one at that.

he was on my radar since the mid nineties.  i knew he was garbage, because back then he was known to never pay his contractors.  He was used as an example as to how to protect your firm from clients who act in bad faith.

the guy was an exaggerated caricature of an insecure slumlord.

then somehow he made friends with the dipshiat personalities on fox and other crap and they all started spinning this tall tale that he was some brilliant business man.  it was all fabrication.

no one ever wanted to look into the truth because the lie was so much more seductive.

He brought the ridicule and humiliation on himself. And nobody - nobody - slandered Trump.

No lies were told about The Donald, so he was never slandered. It was always, all of it, true.

Can't wait until he loses the Trump international in DC, it is a beautiful building and deserves a better name on it than his. It is funny he is trying to sell it but one of the stipulations is you have to keep his name on it. Probably get it for cheaper in an auction and you can rip the name off it.

Well, hotels aren't doing very well in general right now due to the pandemic, plus a lot of people don't want to give business to a place with the word "Trump" on the door.  This is not a surprise, and, interestingly, has little do to how well his kids have managed the company.

I doubt that. This smacks of money laundering, tax evasion, and a future plea of poverty when the SDNY threatens to seize assets.

Trump engaged in rampant corruption in office.

But the losses he incurred due to becoming a toxic brand greatly exceeded that.

Yeah, killing 400,000 Americans tends to be bad PR for at least half the country* always.

*The color of skin of those killed determines if 48% of the population will support the killings.

That's just the loss they report for tax purposes.
Pretty sure the Trump brand sold $200+ worth of units of Stop the StealTM.

Considering it used to be the Central PO for DC, I would call it the Washington Post House.

If Trump had said a year ago that "Patriotic Americans Wear Masks To Protect Our Great Country", he could have not only been the hero his followers think he is, and maybe even won the re-election he was trying to protect by pretending the disease wasn't important, he could have made $100 Million selling Red MAGA masks.  Bloody idiot!

Plenty of lies were told about Donald.

He is great deal maker - lie
He is a stable genius - lie
He is a great defender of the American Constitution - lie

/Is lying about someone in a complementary way slander?

What would you like to bet that by the end of this decade, even some mainstream historians will inexplicably "reevaluate" Trump and somehow rationalize a "rehabilitation" in which he becomes "not that bad a president, in some respects. He proactively did some good things at the time he didn't get credit for."

C'mon. It always happens.
