It will come back. New York always comes back. If you study the history of New York City, the one constant is that it always changes. It may take a few years and New Yorkers might have to get creative but things will eventually get back to normal. Maybe not 2017 levels but certainly a more sustainable level at which New York can thrive.

I got to read a few words. They found a Cannabiss factory in London. I'm confused. I always thought it was grown, not made in a factory.

Something they've been saying since the 70's. The 1770's when new York was the hot bed of loyalists.

It is grown, but you don't just cut the plant into pieces and sell that, it has to be harvested and somewhat processed after it is grown before getting distributed.  In the US we'd probably call it a 'grow op' (at least in the context of a law enforcement action), so maybe it's a UK thing to say factory.  Regardless, even if it isn't, it's still a factory of sorts: growing, harvesting, processing, packaging, distributing.

Been to NYC many times, and that's a constant. NYC doesn't cling to what doesn't work. If there's real estate in NYC, somebody will buy it up and do something with it. The idea that NYC is going to cling to a bunch of unused office space is hilarious. There are always people wanting to make their fortunes in NYC.

Same is true of San Francisco. Lots of articles lately about how SF is over. Not even close.

All the articles claiming NYC was never coming back because the transplants ran to the suburbs back on the spring.

Lol.

I know this is meant to be funny ha-ha, because weed, but wouldn't this be a really good moment for groups of people to pool funds and buy/lease entire floors of tall buildings and convert them to urban farms?

The problem, as usual, is getting ownership and knowledge into the hands of low-income families, but it would be so worth working on.

Cities should provide grant funding and training, since the cities would benefit from improved air quality and less traffic.
