You mean the first game of Christy Mathewson's 3 complete game shutouts for the Series?

Mack's A's beat McGraw's Giants in the Series twice after that.

The A's have all kinds of wacky tales in their history. Fun team even if they have a bad season -- and lately that hasn't been an issue.

/ They just can't seem to advance far in the playoffs.
