'emergency temporary standards,' FEMA and more regulations, yeah that will surely work.

Certainly eliminating regulatory burdens didn't get us the Trump vaccine in 1/5 the time it would have normally taken.

More government doesn't simplify or streamline anything.

Yes, because doing absolutely nothing and letting 400K people die is far better than this.

Trump didn't do sh*t to develop that vaccine and his lack of involvement in distributing it has actively thwarted its effectiveness.

It didn't.

Piggybacking off SARS and MERS vaccine research + utilizing novel MRNA vaccine techniques got us the vaccine in 1/5th the time it would have normally taken.

Remember when they built the Interstate Highway System and none of the states could talk to each other and the feds didn't want to be involved so all the highways ended at various state lines, usually dead ending into a cornfield?

It turns out it only takes a minor amount of effort to decide a pandemic is bad and you'll try to fight it. Too bad Republicans couldn't figure that out.

Sure, that's why all the EUs regulations caused such a delay in European countries' vaccine development. Oh wait, AstraZeneca and Janssen ended up developing vaccines essentially simultaneously with American companies. So maybe you're just full of it and are doing nothing but hand-waving.

"Govt cant do anything right, put us in charge of it and we'll show you what we mean"  --GOP motto

Government CAN get shiat right... If you've got a functioning government that is focused on a task you can fly to the moon, build highways across entire continents, win WW2 on 3 simultaneous fronts. etc etc etc

The key is not to listen to the splitters from the PFJ.

One thing I can claim with some confidence, after picking over campaign websites for both parties the four or so Presidential campaigns: the Democrats employ an absolute army of poli-sci grad school interns to write policy papers. The produce a goddamn library, every time. Republicans seemingly employ none.

Well, a vaccine by appointment is better than no vaccine at all. The Trump vaccine is a resounding success, you are just too partisan to admit it.

... and to be fair it's not like the rest of the world just sat back and waited for the Trump administration to come to the rescue.  Giving Trump any kind of credit for his leadership during this pandemic on the world stage is ridiculous.  It was obvious when the pandemic plan that was coordinated with Canada was scrapped at the very beginning of the pandemic because Trump smelled a grifting opportunity.
