WTF?  This is like Alcorn State beating Alabama.

That's great for any of those who actually watch soccer in the states. I usually fall asleep during soccer games.

Marcus Aurelius: WTF?  This is like Alcorn State beating Alabama.

From what it sounds like it is when Chaminade beat Virginia in basketball back in 1982.

Did they throw them under the bus?

It is a big part of football. The FA cup has been a bit nuts recently, and it looks like Celtic won't win the Scottish league for the first time in ages, no matter how loudly Neil Lennon protests against the idea of following pandemic restrictions.

Pretty sure some of the FA cup wins have involved clubs fielding their second teams because of Covid lockdowns, bubbles, isolation and what have you, too.

That was my reaction.  I stared in disbelief, watching both matches.

Some of the clubs have had a very crowded schedule.  I remember JoMo complaining about the number of matches Spurs had to play in a very short time earlier this year.  They won most of them.  They made it to the knockout stages of Europa league, the title game of the Carabao Cup, and are in sight of the top 4 in EPL (would be leading if JoMo would stop getting conservative on a one goal lead.)

This seems to be happening a lot in the Copa del Rey this year.  Third-tier Cornellà beat Atletico Madrid in the last round, and in this round took Barcelona to extra time before losing 2-0.

I actually caught the second half and extra time by chance. Their old man goalkeeper made a half dozen game saving saves. And the red card was at min 110, but yes, the shorthanded goal came a few min later (surprisingly not off a corner, but off a break)
