I kind of hope there's phone records showing that the two conspired.

I know Trump's "advisors" didn't want him to pardon any Capitol rioters. Which is why I'm surprised that he didn't. Unless he did, but didn't release the names. Is he required to do that?

FTA

There is no indication that Charles Flynn shares his brother's extreme views or discharged his duties at the Pentagon on Jan. 6 in any manner that was influenced by his brother.

There is no indication that he doesn't.Hence the "duck in, duck out" scenario.

Yeah, I am sure there would be grumbling about him being involved if they had been forthright about it, but it would have been seen as a conspiracy theory. The problem is lying about being involved just make it look worse.

Oh, and I went back to check: Charlie Flynn is not the brother who set up a legal defense fund for Michael Flynn and said he had been framed by Obama; that was Joe Flynn.

Nothing has changed with our military since the Fat Leonard scandal.  If anything, this past for years it's only gotten worse.  These people will have to be weeded out, and there's going to be a lot of them.

As much as Trump seemed to thrive on chaos and controversy, I'm surprised he didn't pull the ultimate legal Fark All Y'all on the way out and issue a blanket pardon for all Federal crimes.

Technically you don't, since the character was Flint and the title of the sequel was a pun on the expression that already existed.

He knew that would be rejected.

Michael Flynn's pardon now looks like it was issued specifically so that Flynn has the freedom to foment the Capitol insurgency.  A pardon issued in furtherance of a Federal crime should be easily invalidated.

"HE WAS NOT IN ANY OF THE MEETINGS!" one Army official said on Jan. 12 in an email to The Post.

Like several others interviewed, the official spoke on the condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the issue.

So your anonymous source outright lied to you about an issue of pivotal national security when our country stood on the precipice of collapse and you're still protecting him.  Maybe it's time to rethink the ethics and morality of this one WP because you just got conned big time.  And now the question must be asked: Has this source used you to spread misinformation in the past?  Also: Why should we trust anything from your poorly vetted anonymous sources in the future?  If we're going to clean house and shine the light on corruption, maybe it's time for a little self reflection, admit your part in the "alternative facts" campaign and then start naming some names here.

Except that's not an actual legal basis to invalidate a pardon. The pardon power is extraordinarily broad and not subject to restraint. We need to amend the constitution to change that.

Pardons do not apply to future crimes. Throw this dingus in Leavenworth for incitement to violence and treason.

All I know about cowboys, army men, and spies...

Is James Coburn's Flint was hysterically cool compared to Bond and Coburn's bad guys never made me nervous and wasn't snobby like Lee Marvin.

Unlike Charles Bronson who frequently played a good guy who had to do bad things to catch bad people and always made me nervous.

And I was a boy. How girls internalized all that pushing dames around guff we grew up on and walked away unscathed is unlikely.

Oh, you're daydreaming about purity tests. That's nice.

Inappropriate denials are bad. Bad optics are bad. This Flynn may not be. Happy to take it back if I'm proven wrong, though. Mike Flynn's conversion occurred at the 3 star level - which takes a lot of good to get to - but let's hope his brother skips it.

No pardon covers future crimes.
If he continues to foment sedition, biden would have to pardon him for that.

I can't say what has or hasn't happened with any more certainty than ya'll.

But the article notes that he doesn't seem to have the same extremist views.

It's being suggested that the Army was lying about him being in the meeting and as a person who attends a lot of meetings, I'm not sure about that.

If I was involved on a call in a conference room, from the beginning...with the heated conversation, in which I'm interacting with, I'd consider myself in/on that call.

If I wandered into the conference room sometime after the discussion, didn't add any details to the discussion and left the room before the end of that discussion, I would not consider myself a part of that call. Nor would my bosses, especially if I wasn't invited or interacting on it.

Let's not turn into the conspiracy theorists that the right-leaning folks would.
