I like the Chiefs, but get outta here.
I suppose they should have waited for everyone with covid or in covid quarantine to be available, too.

Well...yes, they should have, but that's beside the point.

But that's not how any of this works.

The sports world will be a better place when people stop paying attention to Colin Cowherd.

As a Pats fan who will root for the Bills in the few seasons they kick our asses (and so handily): hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

I may have to tune in now just to see if the stars really have aligned and the Bills are going to the Superbowl

My understanding is that the betting lines on this game is Chiefs(-3). If Mahomes is cleared to play it will move to Chiefs (-7). If he's ruled out it will move to Bills(-7). That's some wild-ass betting swing.

Sorry, leafs get priority there.

Yeah that means there will never be another Stanley cup game ever, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

His show would most accurately be described as "The Hot Take Hour".

Colin Cowherd, much like Stephen A. Smith and other people with words that are intentionally inflammatory and/or attention grabbing, thank all of you for complaining about them and indirectly putting money in their pockets.

I thought the updated reports were that Mahones suffered a neck injury and not a concussion.  There's been speculation that he may have been "choked out".

Video of the hit starting at around :20

Jay Glazer: "Look, the toe is probably more of an issue. Guys, if you look right here, [looking at his own monitor showing the Patrick Mahomes tackle] look where the hand is around his neck and around the artery. People get so mad that I am talking about a concussion they didn't believe was a concussion. He was trying to get back in the game that day. Yeah, he got up wobbly and woozy because he gets that artery hit just like you're getting choked out in mixed martial arts. Your lights go out. It doesn't go slowly, when you get choked out it's [FLASH] and you're out. Then sometimes you start doing things you don't realize you're doing where you're grabbing a referees' leg or a teammate's leg, or whatever, and that's what they believe happen more so than a concussion. But now he's wobbly, and he has to go through concussion protocol... It doesn't take a lot to put somebody out when you hit that artery. They expect him to pass the concussion protocol. I had one guy hit me up on Twitter saying 'you're an MMA guy, you should know better. It takes five seconds to choke somebody out.' This guy I think was an instructor somewhere. We'll, you need to close your school because it takes way less than five seconds to choke someone out. It takes about a second and a half, or two seconds... That's what they thought was the issue with Patrick. That day he was trying to argue with them to let him back in, but obviously the visual with him stumbling all over -- you can't let that happen. I know it's a very sensitive topic, but I'm giving you the facts that I've been told."

Can we have a tag for things by shiatbags like Cowherd, Bayliss, Smith, etc. You know. The shiat talking click bait "reporters" whose job it is to say stupid shiat to drum up views and controversy? That way if you don't feel like subjecting yourself to the obvious trolling you don't have to?

No.  Just no.

Look, I'm a Bills fan, and as I stated in another thread, I really hope that Mahomes is cleared to play on Sunday.

But this is football.  Players miss games due to injury every week.  Even QBs.  This would be far from the first time that a starting QB had to miss a playoff game due to injury.

I remember that Jim Kelly had to miss some playoff games due to injury, and had Frank Reich fill in for him (including the famous Comeback Game against the Oilers).  Kelly was also an All-Pro franchise QB and future Hall-of-Famer, and no one ever suggested postponing those games.

Stop it, that is just ridiculous. No player for a team from Ohio would ever choke a player from an opposing team. You should feel ashamed for even having raised the possibility.

Or maybe they play the game, and if the Chiefs are losing at halftime, they are allowed to play the second half with all 53 players on the field at the same time and hit Bills players with folding chairs, since we're dropping all pretense of this being a sport.

UNC_Samurai: The sports world will be a better place when people stop paying attention to Colin Cowherd.

This. He's just trying to get attention by being obviously contrarian. Oooh, hot take.

But if they're gonna bury a positive cocaine test for Joe Montana, they'll "clear" Mahomes to play.

2021-01-21 11:10:34 AM
Mahomes will play. No concussion, no problem.

Cowherd, Stephen A., Bayless, and the rest...who is watching this? I get why they get paid, they get ratings. But if their fan base is sports fans, why would anyone who likes sports watch them? Stupid "takes" like this, opinions made just to spark twitter responses, misinformation and uninformed commentary...it's like being a car enthusiast and getting all your car info from Ralph Nader.

He's literally on Fox Sports 1. He went there less than a week after getting fired from ESPN for complaining about Dominican baseball players. To be fair, it's very on brand for both Fox and Colin.

I would say that for the Buffalo Sabres but I'd like to watch some hockey in the next decade.
