The paperwork was the easy part. The hard part is moving all that land from America to Montana.

Hey Montana,

So like, stop like electing one republican senator and stuff like this won't get put on the back burner for so long.

So the Feds finally got rid of that radioactive dump site?

And immediately a group of Y'all Qaeda shows up to take over a bird sanctuary, misunderstanding that the land is being given back and not taken.

How many inane political replies does it take to get to the center of a federal transfer of lands?

Wait.  If the debt handed been paid, then the deal wasn't finished.

Could we have just decided to not let Montana into the Union until, say, the population of the land under question (formerly known as "Montana") reached...Oh, I dunno...1% of the US total population?

Merge it with N+S Dakota? Give it back to the French?

Our elections are no longer fair thanks to ES&S.  Let's hope Congressional Democrats get smart and pass the SAFE Act tomorrow to make sure electronic elections have more substance to them than just a Republican Secretary Of State's say-so next time around.

Bureau of Land Management manages to manage less land.

SecondaryControl: Merge it with N+S Dakota?

If that happened, the resulting population would be slightly larger than the county I live in.

Surely the tumbleweed and caribou require 6 senators.

Montana gets almost 40% of their revenue in federal aid every year. I think that debt has been paid again and again. Also, can I get some property for $400 am acre?! Seriously?

Dispatch your man to the county office, where their agent shall supply you with the most recently surveyed appraisal of the proposed "Montana" territory.

I've never Understood this if the state Raises their revenue I assume the feds payment would remain the same Though the percentage would be less

So I don't understand the point of percentage of federal aid

Oh. The reason I say that, is that they could have just chosen to pay the debt.
Even if over a few years.
