He was gonna sell us out all along - look!  'Objection to counting the electoral votes of the state of Arizona.' " He paused. "Oh, wait, that's actually O.K."

Trump:  I have the worst supporters!

Being a Cuban-Canadian has him a bit confused.

"I think it was a terrorist attack on the Capitol, and it was despicable, and anyone who committed acts of violence should be fully prosecuted and should go jail for a long time," Cruz said

How about those whose lies egged them on?

Frantically flipping through a three-ring binder on Cruz's desk, he muttered, "There's gotta be something in here we can farking use against these scumbags." Someone looking on commented, with serene confidence, "Cruz would want us to do this, so I think we're good."

Awkward!

Him, Hawley, Boebert, Greene, and many others have got to go.

If Ted Cruz were to die tonight, I'd wake up and say "Gosh. Darn." then go get another cup of coffee.

I wonder what they stole from his desk that has his so upset?  Since he is not complaining about anything missing, it must have not been something he should have had in his desk.  Any speculation?

Time for Ted to just sit back and enjoy a nice warm booger.

2021-01-20 2:50:11 PM
Ted Cruz was around during W's war on terror.

Ted Cruz made the deliberate choice to participate in terrorism and it's foriegn linked terrorism. He should have known better. He does know better, he decided he didn't need to be better.

It's offensive that his bank accounts aren't already frozen and he's not in jail awaiting trial.

I would assume he or his "crack" team of lawyers will implicate them at some point.

People who donate to politicians to advocate for "lower, less or no taxes" have plenty of money and are in no financial hardships, their lives are burden-free, they simply want to defund, destroy and terrorize America.

You can't win a chess game if you set the board on fire. It's not a move in the game.

You can be in legal peril if you ask someone to murder someone else, particularly if they do the murder.

Ted Cruz verbally supported the insurrectionists. Insurrection is not a policy position any more than arson is a legal chess move.

Even just enough for the 14th amendment to kick in would be fine.  I'm not sure you can tie them to felony murder.

I do wonder...

McConnell might be the greatest political mind in the last 20 years. He uses it for evil, which is a shame.   But he knows how to win by the rules, leaving the losers sputtering while holding the short end of the stick. What he did to Garland, emblematic of his entire tenure during Obama's presidency, was infuriating.  But he won.

He got everything he wanted out of Trump, tolerating the nonsense as long as he got his judges and his tax cut and his deregulation. Now that the buffoon is out, he can pivot toward nullifying him and his legacy, and start working to rebuild his party. And he has a shot at taking down Cruz, whom everyone hates anyway - if not booted from the senate, at least down enough pegs to not be a serious contender for 2024. And if he votes to convict, if he sides against the Cruzes and the Hawleys (who are a pain in his ass anyway) for censure or removal, he can claim that he's not acting in a purely partisan way. Nevermind that he's back to his old Obstructionist Minority Mitch ways, he's obviously willing to reach across the aisle - just look! He sided with Democrats against his own.

He's a farking evil genius.

FWIW the right wing media talking point for this is "those who commit crimes need to be punished, but no office holding Republicans were responsible for anything."

We had a whole argument with my FIL about it this weekend.

"I agree that they(the insurrectionists) were terrorists who need to be held accountable for their crimes!"

"What about the Republicans who actively encouraged it, specifically Josh Hawley, Ted Cruz, and Jim Jordan?"

"What about BLM!"

Literally every time, when I explained to him he was doing something called "whataboutism" he told me to "stop putting words in his mouth."

Also did you know that no one got arrested in the BLM riots over the summer, literally no one. I didn't even know how to respond to that.
