Pass a law that properties in NY that the owners of are found guilty of Tax Avoidance forfeit the same, sell at auction, and funds thereof are then purposed to the NY General fund. Then let the NYAG do their job.

You don't want government? That costs freedom.

Chuck Schumer may let Cuomo twist in the wind for a while. He has his reasons. The money will arrive in good time, but with a warning - come not between the Nazgûl and his prey Schumer and his microphone.

Nice attorney general you've got there, Andrew. It would be a pity if somebody investigating Trump's dealings happened to look into what the ex-president might have gotten back when he was rolling out that Trump U scam, in exchange for that 64 grand Trump gave you.

NY is charging the richest residents less than 11%?  Bump them up to 60's levels, Federal too.

Those geese have been gliding for several decades. They use the roads, utilities, and other benefits of society.  They can give back to the country that has allowed them to make so much money with little to no cost to themselves.

You're right.

What we need to do is bring all those who are making millions and billions of dollars taxes down to negative numbers, and raise everyone else's to 80%.

That will totally work and will bring in quadrillions of dollars.

Horseshiat. NY gets the same as everyone else. Their fiscal year closed in June. Any of their first wave costs have already been accounted for and now they're halfway into the next year. Costs from spring 2020 have nothing at all to do with their current budget year and any tax changes wouldn't be until next year starting July 2021 which isn't even here yet. Cuomo can go fark himself with this lying bullshiat.

I know I haven't lived in New York as long as some of you (6 years and counting...) but it absolutely boggles my mind at how sclerotic this state continues to be.
It is not a successful state because of its leadership. It is successful (when it is successful) in spite of it.

Trump spread SARS-CoV-2 on purpose, particularly among Democratic states, Native American populations, and working class children.  He had neither scientific but Constitutional rationale for doing so.  Cuomo is right in demanding the money now that this shiatshow is in its last act.  That's he's doing so Inauguration Day speaks to his much trouble New York is facing.

The only thing NY leads in is total deaths, by about 6k.

$15 billion sounds low considering the federal government waged war against NY and other blue states by denying adequate pandemic funding, medical equipment, and now vaccine doses. The places that got screwed the most were the ones that economically power the US, so they are entitled to the dollar amount of $whatever it takes.

I'm confused. What part of NYS's Covid plan did the residents of the other 49 states benefit from and why should we front the bill?

Sounds to me like the residents of NY State spent $15 billion that they need to figure out how to pay for. I dunno? Maybe ask Bloomberg or Michael Dell or one of the other billionaires living in those new supertall mega skyscrapers for it?

This is nothing more than a 2021 version of

So just jack up the millage on every prosperity over $1 million in the state. If residents don't like it, they can sell their investments to the next willing buyer to take over the tax bill.

It's not unprecedented and the way I see it, most of NYC real estate serves as a money laundering system for the rest of the world.

11% on top of city and state taxes. It's the highest combined tax rate in the country, and approaches a 50% total effective tax rate when all is said and done.

Now, will anyone actually feel this increase? No, not really. It's an insignificant amount. But NY has never been shy about teaching Peele, unlike most other states, so let's not undersell the state.

Oh hey, wasn't it DeSantis and Gimenez and Suarez and the FLL CVB that doesn't millions of dollars desperately trying to get Northerners to move to South Florida so we could finally start transforming our fetid swamp into something approaching civilization? Why yes. Yes it was. I know, because I got some of that money. This is what you've been voting for - ask and you will receive.
