Thank you. I was going cross-eyed after the first couple sentences and retreated to check out Fark comments.

I ended up opening it in two tabs just so I could switch back and forth.  Everything Johnson said is worthless.  Everything they said in response is glorious.

This is how every single paper needs to publish political opinions from now own.

I like this approach. Allow politicians to be politicians but call them out on their lies. There should be a job field for this like reporter or journalist.

The basic argument coming from Republicans now is that democracy has failed to protect their interests and they need another system instead, its gon get ugly.

Bravo, MJS.

If I may... the last part about it not being a partisan attack on Republicans might be misleading. Nobody is stupid enough to challenge American Democracy except of course Republicans. And they only did it when hiding behind their demagogue.

Yeah, I really hate this disingenuous framing.  It's not that anyone is specifically coming for the Republicans--it's that Republicans are the only ones attacking our democracy.  We'd go after them regardless of their party affiliation.  People need to push back against this argument.

I concede the point. I should have been more clear, to wit: all those in the legislative branch that have been accused of aiding and abetting are wearing the R designation. The last people to be successfully prosecuted for sedition were involved in 9/11. We can all be unhappy with our government (and frequently are), and yet, we didn't storm the Capitol. I don't think this would have gotten as far as it did without repeated encouragement by the Republicans, but if it was Dems, my opinion would not change. I took a bullet for this country, I'm not about to let half wits tear it apart from either side of the aisle.

Cite? Because I looked. JS endorsed Feingold in 2010, then got out of the business of endorsing candidates before the 2016 election and simply offered their opinion of each candidate without recommending either one.

That is not to say that some individual opinion contributors did not endorse Johnson, but of course you have sufficient reading comprehension skills to know the difference and understand this is a thing that general readership newspapers do. Right?

Ownership of the newspaper changed too. I don't know if that factored into their stance of endorsements or not.

I bought a shirt from them, and signed up for the mailing list. I'm not driving 3 plus hours for a 6 pack, but I absolutely love what Kirk is doing, and wish more small businesspeople had the views he does. At least politically, I don't know him personally, he may be a Vikings fan for all I know.

Nope, the only way to get their beer is to pick it up. I believe they are completely sold out of beer at the moment, though.  You cannot pre-order on the website last time I checked.

/I live 2 minutes from Oscar's in Stallis, and I am biased to their curds. They are the standard for me.  Culver's are usually too greasy and mushy.

Depends on what kid is cooking them. But yeah, Oscars is better.  (used to live by the Waukesha location, and I when I have to actually go to the office for a day or two, I stay right down the street from the stallis location) But, it is 6 hours to St. Louis....
