Spent so many years as a kid watching number 20 on the mound for the Dodgers. That Afro peaking out from both sides of his cap, that fastball. Good memories.

He's the 8th Hall of Famer to pass away since April, the 7th player. He's the last number the Dodgers have retired; after Tommy and Sutton, Sandy Koufax is the last retired number left alive. He pitched for the Dodgers in three World Series, then left in free agency before '81 (which the Dodgers won). He got a "farewell" contract in '88 but was so bad (and injured) the Dodgers cut him in August.

But this is the best quote:
"I don't have any fantasy or thought of being the best pitcher in Dodger history. But I would like to think I got everything I could get out of what I was gifted with."
