In Wisconsin in the late '90s - early '00s, I saw someone backing a pickup truck onto a lake next to my college campus, near the end of what had been a very warm March.  The truck had chains on the back, and they were trying to pull out a car that had already broken through the ice and was now partially submerged.

I kick myself now that I didn't stay around to find out if the obvious happened, but I was running late for a meeting.

People do stupid stuff with cars.

One summer morning I went to check the surf and there was a 2 door chevy blazer stuck at the surf line with the tide coming in. This was mid 90's before ubiquitous cell phones. Up by the duenes there was a mulleted middle aged dude who looked like Zazz, and his very upset ladyfriend who's vehicle I think it was.

I can only imagine the conversation

Her "should we be riding out on the beach like this"
Him "relax, I am experienced male with testicles even, this can do much often to impress ladies"
Her "I think we're too close to the water"
Him "It's romantic out here, let's fool around"
Her "Okay"

Couple hours go by, tide comes in, by the time he tries to pull the away from the surf the sand is wet, and the tires that he most definitely didn't deflate to ~15 psi before driving on sand as one does cut through the mud like pizza knives.

Her "I TOLD you we were too close to the water"
Him "STFU biatch"
...cue Alabama Man theme song

csb:

A number of years back, I went to visit a buddy of mine who had gotten a 350z. We had done some running around, and he goes to get onto I85, had been raining and it's a long downward sloped on ramp. He goes to shift when it starts to level off and merge with traffic. . . and all traction just goes with it.

We end up spinning round and round across 4-5 lanes of travel. Hit the median, which was one of those large grassy ones with some pine trees in the center to separate the two directions of travel. When we hit the dirt of the median, we carve a big crescent shaped arc, coming within about 3 ft of the front bumper kissing some trees and finally end up in a drainage ditch of rocks.

No damage to the car at all, we had to call a wrecker because it ended up just barely tilted over some rocks so the front wheels weren't touching. A city cop eventually shows up as well, while we were waiting on the tow truck.  She was nice enough to let us sit in the back of the cruiser while the dude finished getting the car back out.

Talking about it after, we realized neither of us screamed. Just my buddy commenting drying "that's no good" when the traction went. Both of us alternating calmly stating "oh no" as we progressed through spins, almost hit the trees, and then ended up in the ditch.

That's also the only time I've ever spent in the back of a cruiser.

My first off road excursion as the result of missing a curve shot me between a telephone pole and the supporting guy wire.

ongbok: I love the host at the end. Makes you wonder what is Russian for "What the fark?"

That would be yob tvouyeh maht.  Yobe t'vayou (like t'bayou, sorta) maht.

Literally translated it means fark your mother but it's used a lot like son of a biatch in the US.  Rarely an insult, often from stubbing your toe.

I got smacked for too much cursing in the office so I started cursing in Russian.  Until Vlad (literally his name, former USSR Army officer) came over, laughing.  Then the Lithuanian woman, who was not laughing at all.  She's kinda perma-angry.

That is a fun video, but I was stuck trying to figure out who decided to pair skies with studded tires.  Those two seem a little mutually exclusive in their functions.  (Aside from lifting the busted wheel of the ground.)
