I think he earned that honorific a long time ago, subby.

In my long list of people to never listen to ever again, Trump and Barr are at the top.

At this point, subby, I consider that a compliment for him. Why are you being so kind?

Can we add "convicted felon" at some point? That would be nice.

Barr is a Jesus freak authoritarian, he just finds Trump too crude and incompetent.

Bill Burr's whole schtick has been "insufferable douche" since he first started doing standup, I don't see why....oh. Dammit.

/srsly this always happens

He's no douche.  Barr himself leaves me with that old...not-so-fresh feeling.

Barr may not be going to jail, but I still hope it happens. Even if not, he's likely to spend the majority of the next decade needing a lawyer and having interviews with the FBI about his involvement in the nearly over administration.

Whatever he got paid to be in that position... it likely wasn't enough.

Thank God someone is pointing out the real cause of the violence.  They've been censored the last 4 years!  It's the evil media's fault.  I mean, we certainly haven't had 4 years of the most overt, public, unrestrained racism in the last 40 years, amplified to an unprecedented degree by both traditional media and new social media.  Of course, they've been censored.

It's also, apparently, that people have lost faith in elections.  Reality is that the elections are extraordinarily safe and the outcomes reliable.  People have lost faith in elections because the farking president of the United States is telling them that the elections are rigged!  If Republicans had actual leadership, faith in elections would be high.

Why do we suddenly care about a guy whose greatest accomplishment before mopping up for Disaster Toilets was supporting the pardon of Caspar Weinberger for Cassie's 5 felonies as part of the Iran Contra scandal and opposed the special counsel to find out just what the fark happened?

Same guy proudly teargassed protestors so that his boss could hold a Bible upside down at a church that didn't want him there.

Fark him to hell, and when he comes back to beg forgiveness for his sins, he can fark off again.

// don't care where the second time
// maybe find that mythical "Fark Off No Further" sign, see if you can get just a little beyond it
// I believe in you, Billiam

"I don't know if I'd use the word 'inevitable,' but I think that when you start suppressing free speech, when people lose confidence in the media, and also when they lose faith in the integrity of elections, you are going to have some people resort to violence," Barr said.

He is pure evil.  And a shiatty attorney of any sort.

Barr:
> "All this bullshiat about how the President is going to stay in office and seize power? I've never heard of any of that crap," Barr told Chicago Tribune columnist John Kass. "I mean, I'm the attorney general. I would think I would have heard about it."
"They are projecting," he continued. "They are creating an incendiary situation where there will be loss of confidence in the vote."

Is this the old accuse the opposition of your own faults? aka. Projecting?

how about "We were creating an incendiary situation where there would be loss of confidence in the vote."

Here's the article from the Chicago Tribune, so you can revisit Barr's baggery, lies, and hypocrisy in full detail.

FTA:" I think that when you start suppressing free speech, when people lose confidence in the media, and also when they lose faith in the integrity of elections, you are going to have some people resort to violence"

So, he just laid out what their plan had been all along (the entire 4 years) - Persistently call the media fake so people lose confidence, whine over and over in the media (news and social) about how your speech is being suppressed, accuse the other side of cheating in the election to make people lose faith, all in order to inspire violence if you don't get your way.
The only real attempt at suppression of speech was to try to damp down the incitement to insurrection, and that was really only in the form of commentary on the incitement until after the insurrection attempt.

Private companies don't suppress your speech, buttpipe, they protect their brand.   Stupid goddamn people...

I was stunned when I read that in the article. What censorship? We've been coddling the increasingly extremist right wingers for the better part of 30 years at least, and they've only become more dangerous. The last administration that even attempted to take serious action against right wing extremism was Clinton's, and it was scattershot at best, even before it got bogged down by the whole David Koresh affair. When the DHS released a perfectly nonpartisan report warning about right wing extremism under Obama, Rethuglicans flew into such a rage that Janet Napolitano had to publicly apologize for it. The only politician I can think of who has attempted to address the issue via public discourse has been Hillary Clinton, and her approach was not only ham-handed, but it is part and parcel of why and how she has been right wing enemy #1 for...JFC, again, almost 30 years!

Free speech means you should be allowed to lie about the integrity of the election and then blame the riots on peoples' perceptions of the integrity of said election.

That quote from him should read, "When we undermined every public institution and said the media lied, we hoped people would resort to violence.... and boy did they!"

I know there's no real stomach for execution, so I suggest we bring back irrevocable exile as a federal punishment.

Separate these assholes from everyone they love and everything they own.

Upon conviction, destroy their passports in front of them, escort them to the border and tell them, "You're no longer one of us, we don't care where you go but you can't stay here. No visiting, either. This is forever."

If nobody wants them, they can go to Gitmo with the other stateless terrorists nobody wants.

These people are a malignant cancer and cannot be reformed. They must be removed.
