Man, back in the 90's their stuff was really built to last.

Now?  Not so much.

I have not had much luck with the longevity of Logitech mice in my household.  The scroll wheel has been the part most prone to fail, but I've also had problems with left buttons dying.  Figure I've had to trash four or five M310s over the years and I'm close to doing the same with my current M510.

natazha: I used to work in IT and all of our new servers came with keyboards, mice and cabling.  Since we racked them and used console servers, there were pallets of parts available for the taking.  17 years later, I'm still using them.

I've kept the bundled mice & keyboards from home machines over the years too. I did finally purge most of the PS/2 connectors. But they're all 'like new', because they suck. I started using upgraded keyboards & mice in the early 90s. The bundled cheapos are handy for temporary issues, but I would never even consider regular use for one.

I loved my right-handed Logitech mouse. Wish I'd stocked up.

Logitech for mice, Microsoft for keyboards has worked for me for at least 20 years. The M510 is my current go-to rec for people who like a full-size mouse.

I decided to stop giving Logitech money.  I've gone through too many mice and too many keyboards.  There is some quality stuff out there at lower prices than Logitech.  Why should I keep wasting my money?
