Avoid that stuff. Dad had it and it nearly got him. They were almost down to the then experimental fecal transplant when an antibiotic being tested worked.  Having to carry your father to the toilet is not an experience I would recommend.

CSB:

I was at my kidney doctor in Boston for a post-transplant checkup while I was in the middle of a screaming case of The Runs that had been going on for the past two days. Concerned, he admitted me into the hospital (he was located at Brigham and Women's Hospital) for observation. At one point, the doctors and nurses were coming into my room wearing full PVE and (what looked like to my untrained eye) hazmat suits. Apparently, they were testing me for C.diff because of my effluvia. Fortunately, the tests came back negative and they marked down my issue as "ulcerative colitis" (which I certainly do NOT have.) Things slowed down enough that I was released after two or three days (I can't rightfully recall). When I got home, I just took an anti-diarrhea pill and it took care of the rest.

The reason I didn't do that before is that my doctors said I shouldn't do it so soon after transplant surgery in case it was indicative of an underlying problem. Oh well.

I had that this summer. Rather, the full timeline was:

Mugged: 3 days in the hospital
out for a month
Car accident: 16 days in
out for 5 days
Developed HIT: in for 3 days
out for 3 weeks:
C. Diff: in for 6 days
out for a month
Covid: in for 5 days

Also, got a divorce, lost my job and my dog died.

Fark you 2020
