Don't retire #LOLMets just because there's a new owner. He may just go Dan Snyder on us yet.

2021-01-19 9:28:19 AM
the new owner fired him already

I always feel a bit sad seeing texts from a guy in his 30's that comes off as a desperate 14 year old that hasn't learned how to talk to girls yet.

Not sad for him, just sad.

Let's be honest, fellow Mets fans. Did you really think that all of this good news was going to be the new course? Or did you just know that it was another faint blip of joy in an otherwise endless sea of miserable hell.

What power does hell have without the hope of heaven?

I'll go cry in the corner now.

2021-01-19 9:45:21 AM
And yet....

Mets fans still have it better than Mariners fans.

I blame his mom and dad for naming him Jared.

Yeah that isn't creepy at all, has he ever been around a woman since middle school?

Who the hell does he think he is?  Brett Favre?

Well, yeah.  But that wouldn't let me make the funny joke about his penis, playing on the "Pro tip" trope.

Marbleisheavy: And he's fired.  Good.

And it wasn't even one of those "After much consideration", or "He has stepped down" or "We have mutually decided to remove his duties", either. It was brief and to the point:

The question is did the Cubs know about this?

Good on the Mets for NOPEing this guy the hell out literally the morning after the news broke.

Not even "terminated his employment", but farking terminated. Now that's someone who means business.

But that just means this dick pic moron was somehow important for the human resistance against SkyNet. Maybe his dick pics wasted valuable bandwidth for the Hunter Killer flyers?

Someone who means business would have done their due diligence instead of Metsing it.

ESPN has been sitting on the story for three years because the *victim* did not want it published. It's one thing to do due diligence but if everyone who knows the story is actively hiding it, I have a hard time blaming the Mets for not finding it.

Hard to feel bad for fans of a New York team that would normally have a top tier budget... but after years of having a contender but with the injury bug, and the Bernie Madoff thing ; down to just having one great player but a lacking roster, it would be reasonable to say it probably wouldn't get any worse.  And it just did.  Sorry Mets fans.

Jim Rome is on a rant about this guy as I type this: "The fact that I have to talk about your junk or your fake junk as part of my job makes me want to quit my job!"

Well, at least the owner seems like a man of his word.

Please do quit, you has been.

As for the now ex-GM; he, like so many other men, let his dick think for him. And this is what happens when a man lets that happen. What a stupid farking idiot.

Yeah, and the woman who was sent those messages isn't even in journalism anymore. And where she's from (as noted in the article), being the victim of this can harm her career. So it's completely understandable that this escaped the notice of the Mets, as well as the Dbacks; where he was for the last couple of years.

/maybe teams need to contact ESPN and other media to say "hey, do any of your journalists have anything on (candidate for job) that you've been sitting on?"

That was a big part of #metoo and the stupid NDA's people were signing. There were more than one article pointing out that the women who took hush money owe some of that cash to the later victims.

I never knew Ricky Gervais was the type...TMYK, I guess.

The Wilpons would have bungled this, shaming the victim and trying to make it into a positive PR move. I'm glad Cohen did the right thing and appears to want to run a tight ship with integrity, at least where baseball is concerned.

It'll be a Jeopardy answer in a few years. "The only franchise to have hired and fired a manager and a GM without a single game being played."

At least we got Lindor.

Ah, former resident of Deluxebury.  and a Thayer graduate, much like the level-headed Jeremy Roenick, I see.  Clearly the dick pic he sent must have been of a most classy variety.. Held valiantly with his pinky extended, I hope.

The huge problem is that apparently a third party knew about this and did nothing.

Before he joined the Mets.
