Ahoy-hoy gang. It's a nippy 68 degrees here, wet and windy. I spent 6 hours or so at the office today trying to battle a mountain of "paperwork" after I lost 2 critical full timers to retirement recently and no certainty that the positions can be refilled anytime soon.  Did about the same number of hours on Saturday too.

But now I'm home & catted and watching the tube. Officially back to work tomorrow.

I'm jobless.  Whatchoo do?  I got a degree and stuff.

Covid. farking COVID. Blew up my career too
30 YEARS nearly
Hopefully when we are vaccinated we can pick up the thread again

You should see if they need you at the Library of Congress.  Gotta be a lot of positions to refill now that dipshiats done.

That's awesome!!!

Yea! It's not a line of work I ever would have thought to go into but the more conventional jobs I've tried over the years have never worked out. This was something I figured I'd take a chance on while I got back on my feet and tried to figure out what I really wanted to do. Turns out I really like it and I get to work with dogs all day. =)

One thing about COVID-19 is that it really screwed over the predictions of how world events were going to play out.  This has got a LOT of people scared, because those predictions were going to determine their course of actions.  That is all out the window now.  Whoever plays catch-up the fastest is going to have the advantage in the next decade.

The president has continued to tell advisers and allies he really won the election, with less than 48 hours to go before he leaves office. On the current GOP rift, the president's anger is with every Republican who voted for impeachment but singular for McCarthy, aides say.

How mad would you be if they all rigged their own elections (Collins, McConnell, Graham leap to mind), but didn't bother with Dear Leader since his liabilities weren't worth the effort?

I'm guessing those plans are filed under "we won't hear about them until months afterward, if at all."

But to be honest - who the hell knows at this point.  In a sick way, it would almost be disappointing if this didn't end with something kinda nuts.

I've found nothinng anywhere saying he was, only hat Rach said. I expect she may be mistaken as people a few days ago were saying Wednesday afternoon as one of Veep Harris's first acts.

Warnock and Ossoff won't be sworn until after Georgia has physically presented the Secretary of the Senate with a Certiificate signed by both Georgia's Gov and SoS.  The SoS is meeting tomorrow with the election board to go over the now certified county results, but the deadline for signatures isnt until Jan 22, so there might still be a few days for those two.

It occasionally gets tropically chilly here at sea level during our winter. Last weekend we were 'camping' at the beach and I woke up at some point the first night and I was freezing. I had to wrap up like a mummy in my sheet. But all I needed was a sheet and probably should have opted to keep a shirt on before trying to go to sleep.

/might have been down to 65 or so with a steady breeze blowin'
