She had a difficult job, and performed it with style and class. Also, I respect her many accomplishments too much to refer to her as a hottie. I think Lt. Hottie shows proper decorum.

Congratulations to the Jackie Robinson of Star Fleet!

CarnySaur: That reminds me of the time that the ghost of Martin Luther harangued me about indulgences for ten nights straight.

Since this is a scifi thread I read that as Martin Landau and was only slightly confused.

"Incoming transmission from MCI Worldcom. It sounds like a limited-time offer."

Some Junkie Cosmonaut: Trik: Saw a star trek doc once that insinuated she was boning Gene Roddenberry.
Kinda bent my mind seeing as she was so hot and he looked like something the dog had been chewing on for awhile.

Gene was boning nearly everything female and remotely attractive that didn't run fast enough.  No, I'm not sure how he managed that either.

I GIS'ed him and he didn't look like I remembered.
Then I realized that for some reason I was confusing him with L. Ron Hubbard  Who actually was butt ugly.

I always like Uhura. I think it did more than people realise, especially in small ways like normalising unfamiliar names.

My Best friend's Mom was the first black cosplayer at a con dressed up as Uhrua. She loved all the pictures and guys who were impressed by her sewing skills.
