Planning on buying an electric car to cut CO2 emissions. And, when I pass, no cremation. Just bury me in the ground to capture my carbon carrion.

Yeah but what's the bad news?

We should put a limit on any one country's population. Say, 350 million max.

Clash City Farker: We should put a limit on any one country's population. Say, 350 million max.

Population is a major problem.  Big steps in the right direction are: female education and empowerment, global access to birth control, and decreasing childhood mortality rates.

Here, again, it is appropriate that I utter my most frequently quoted remark: I am grateful to providence that my boomer generation is going to die in the nick of time, for we were born in the nick of time. We have seen the world as it was, and shall pass away seeing all of that pass with us. You younger folks are SCREWED! Sorry about that.

Or a serious global war that reduces population by, say, 90% or so.

That would reduce population.

Put a smart phone in every tweens' hands and a game console in every teen boys bedroom.

Cut the population in half in 50 years.

/father to 4.
//Can see the lack of desire for physical contact taken over by virtual contact. teen boys are even more awkward if that is even possible.

It's almost as if everyone was warned but no one listened. I'm going to do what I can, but with my genetics, I'll still have 60 years of viable living. Have fun with the end of the world, kids.

Nope, not even a citizen of the UK.  However, climate alarmists don't do much to further the cause for responsible use of resources or the environment.

Population is only a problem because of economic injustice. If you solve that problem you dont need to wipe out large swaths of people, in fact you would vastly improve many lives and increase the natural bounty of the earth by many times if we shared resources more efficiently

What I don't see being predicted is that, as the human population dies off, greenhouse gases also will be reduced.  Eventually an equilibrium will be reached.  Will the future look like our modern world? Maybe not.  Maybe it will be better.

/call me an optimist...

Article said the opposite of "people dying off".  10 billion by 2050.  There may be more people dying per day by then, but even more being born.

But I suppose you're looking beyond 2050 and sure, something's gotta give and change this trajectory.  Life *will* go on and maybe humanity will too, assuming whoever's around in 100 years has learned to work with nature instead of in spite of it.

I always hope a stand of this can be found somewhere remote. But alas.
