(KIRO-7 Seattle)   To be fair, if you really want to get the attention of police, setting your car on fire in front of the FBI building and making bomb threats is definitely a winning strategy   (kiro7.com) divider line

Actually, here's a better way for those attention whores.  It's been happening for almost two weeks now.

"want to get the attention of police"

Well, you've certainly done that. Now the question is ... WHY have you done that?

But it was 1:14 in the afternoon. Fires are more spectacular at night. Or maybe he was safety-conscious in thinking of the fire trucks coming in and out. OK then, good on him.

It's my right to burn my own vehicle to the ground. Everyone else can just go around the flaming wreck that I leave on the roads I PAID FOR. Anyone who is a dumb idiot and needs to breathe can just hold their breath, geez.

I remember reading a story years ago about a guy robbing a bank in the Pacific Northwest back when people all got paid with paper checks. The bank was across from the building housing the FBI Field Office. He chose to rob the bank at lunchtime on the FBI's payday.

That's is how a girl asked me to high school prom. It works!

The article doesn't speculate on the motive, so I will. FBI would be the target for antifa or trumpifa, but since this involves a pickup truck, I'm leaning toward the latter.

More surprising was his ability to find parking in downtown Seattle.

If you are truly dedicated to your cause then resorting to self-immolation shouldn't really be a problem for you.

There was something similar in my area something 10+ years ago. The master criminal walked into a bank in Chicago's Loop and handed the teller a note announcing a robbery, large bills, etc, etc. The teller looked up and noticed uniformed Chicago cop in the line for the next teller. She then let the cop know that she had a customer for him. The TV cop shows seldom cover real life police work, where the moron criminals all but put the cuffs on themselves

Doesn't say he was shot, so he must have been white.

He wanted to get the cops' attention? Donuts would have been cheaper and easier.

I used to work in downtown Seattle, working for a company that didn't give me MLK day off.  This was a day that I would drive in to work because every other business was closed so busses weren't running their normal schedule and it was one of the only days of the year I could actually find street parking.

Also of note, there's a parade that goes very close by there on MLK day.  I don't know if that was a motive or not.

CSB time:  in those years, I worked across the street from the FBI office.  There are no signs on the building, and for a long time I wondered why there were always black SUVs parked on that block, why there were cameras all over that building, and why there were visible metal detectors and armed guards in the lobby.  I mentioned this in a meeting one day that was in a conference room overlooking that building.  My boss took it upon herself to go stand outside during lunchtime and wait for someone to exit the building and ask what was inside.  And that's how I found out that there was an FBI office across the street.
