Oh no!

I like his car stuff.

But I always thought it was an odd choice. I dismissed it as an english thing.

Our millionaire hosts were always charismatic improv, straight men/women. More Richard Hammond than Jeremy.

I hate hate hate articles where they quote tweets then feel the need to embed the tweets they just quoted.

Do one or the other. Not both.

I'm honestly not sure why he isn't homeless and penniless. I say that as someone who absolutely loves him on Too Gear and all the néw stuff.

He's an insufferable asshole and I'm not sure how he was ever hired by anyone anywhere. But Top Gear never would have been what it was without him.

By himself, Clarkson is tolerable for a few minutes. But he really needs someone to balance him out. James May is the perfect foil for him.

If you work it right, being a funny asshole pays well.  But you have to know he's going to be abrasive and difficult just because.  It's all he knows.  He's not going to curb it or change it.  That's the product.  They knew it when they hired him.

Stop the presses.  A whole SIX people on social media are dissatisfied with a game show host.

First World Problems really is the 10th layer of hell.

Wait, what? Clarkson hosts Who Wants to be a Millionaire? Who's bright idea was that? Hell, I like Clarkson sometimes, despite him being a backwards troll, but that's just a ridiculous fit for his schtick.

Being an insufferable jerk on a game show isn't a far-fetched idea.  Weakest Link did it, Jimmy Carr pulled it off on a number of game shows.  Going super nice and supportive is one way, but making it a bit of a roast also works.

Also, Clarkson isn't just a TV person. I'm pretty sure he's a writer first.

What few episodes of him on Millionaire I've seen he seemed to be doing a pretty decent job, somehow he's less smug than Chris Tarrant was.

Haven't seen him in Millionaire yet, but after watching Series 1 of Robot Wars I could've told you giving him his own show without other people to rein him in was a bad idea, especially if he isn't invested.

It's probably a combination of things for why they do that.  One, quoting the Tweets allows them to ensure that the story is complete if a reader can't or won't see Twitter posts embedded (e.e. NoScripting them away).  On the other hand, if they're using that as source material, it's only fair to give the reader the ability to see it as it was presented (e.g. maybe with a picture).  It also might be somewhere in Twitter's ToS that if you use Tweets as journalistic sources you have to embed them.

I'd actually start watching Jeopardy if he hosted it. That show's kinda ridiculous in how people think it's about how smart people are, but instead it's just how well people can memorize stuff.

Unsurprising. His schtick is as an elitist down-talking arsehole and his success has turned schtick into reality. Without more charismatic and lovable surrounding cast (see Hammond and May) he's just a dick. And on a show when his role is to be the contestant's cheer-leader and interlocutor of the audience, that's a spectacular mis-casting.

Of course he's rude, it IS Jeromie Clarkson!

Yeah. Him and Whitman were apparently responsible for the tone of Top Gear.
