Yup, we all watched him incite the crowd on that stage.

Crap! There go the ratings. bunkie is not going to be happy. He likes the ratings no matter how he gets them.

Rudy admits that being a co-conspirator might adversely affect his ability to defend Trump?

Well, yeah, but mostly it is still the fact that he is a shiat lawyer.

And Trumps cheque likely bounced so there's that.

Rudy is beginning to realize he's not getting a Get Out Of Jail Free card from Donald.  He's going to flip.

No subby. Rudy is either a true believer or so far into the shiat he has no choice but to keep going.

Trump shot him down, presumably blaming him for prior defeats.

jonkarl: Rudy Giuliani now says he won't on the Trump impeachment defense team. "Because I gave an earlier speech [at the January 6 Trump rally], I am a witness and therefore unable to participate in court or Senate chamber," he tells me.

Actually, you're not, counselor, but nice save! Give that man a gold star.

2021-01-18 5:42:18 AM
It would be more surprising if he DID pay a bill for once in his life. Especially to a lawyer.

2021-01-18 5:47:10 AM
Nothing he could say now could possible help Donny Drumpf or himself in the aftermath of January 6.  Especially with Rudy...
Trial By Combat
...remarks made on January 6.  Perhaps Rudy should also be trying to explain himself to a judge.  No Game of Thrones references, please.  Please, Rudy, just admit you belong in prison next to Donny Drumpf.

Giuliani was a hero as America's Mayor. Has he been smart, he'd've left the room a hero. Ditto for Trump: he should've conceded as a gentleman. They would be better off now & better regarded. I used to like Rudy, now he's a schnook. Trump us still a schmuck. Always will be. (The "schmuck" is the part they throw away at a bris.)

I'm sure Dolt 45 paid him more than his worth as a lawyer.

/Not that if is hard to do.

2021-01-18 6:06:52 AM
So, does that mean that Trump will represent himself at the Senate Trial? Or won't have anyone representing him and therefore claim it's completely illegitimate because he didn't mount a defense?

2021-01-18 6:16:07 AM
Didn't Trump specifically say you have to always have a Jewish lawyer? And here he is with some Italian cousin farker who can't keep his damn mouth shut. He's past the bottom of the barrel.

Unobtanium: So, does that mean that Trump will represent himself at the Senate Trial? Or won't have anyone representing him and therefore claim it's completely illegitimate because he didn't mount a defense?

Him and Moscow McTurtle (and the various Republicans who said Trump should be impeached) will claim that the issue is moot and can be disregarded because he is no longer President similar to Nixon (conveniently ignoring the fundamental difference that Nixon was not impeached while in office), although it looks like nobody in Georgia is going to drag their feet on the elections so the Democrats should control the Senate quite soon.

2021-01-18 6:28:16 AM
The important thing here is, Trump will have the best defense he can afford, or is willing to pay.

And, the longest of long games pays off, as Donnie, seemingly with nowhere else to turn, hears a small voice at the door.

Tiffany. The Trump once thought lost. The least of the Trump children in Donnie's eyes. "I will use my freshly-minted law degree to defend you" she says.

A single tear drops into the Home Depot bucket filled with KFC chicken skin Donnie is snacking on. "Tiffany. You were always my favorite. You will help me make America great again."

CUT TO: Senate Interior, Tiffany Trump is sworn-in to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Donnie's smirk could curdle mercury.

Tiffany gets up, approaches the mic, and says "Madame Vice President. Honored Senators. I stand here today to tell you that Donald Trump is guilty as a motherfarker of all of this. Vote to convict."

Rudy got rid of the Italians in NYC to make room for the Russians.  He's always been a compromised schmuck.

Mmm... that word salad needs more color. Things like "concerns are being addressed" and "we've been looking into it very strongly" or "it's fortunate to be placed in a position" and maybe even spice it up with some synergy flakes and non-apology bits.

2021-01-18 6:44:55 AM
I lived under Giuliani's regime in NYC. He was authoritarian. He had people thrown in jail for sitting on milk crates or taking up more than one subway seat.
I did like though he got rid of the squeegee men and the fare on the Staten Island Ferry.  The latter a sop to the Republicans on SI who ensured his victory in a mostly democratic city.
Somehow, he became an expert on terrorism after 911 and formed a successful antiterrorism consulting firm, with several countries hiring him.
I learned the same amount about terrorism that day that he did
I could go on
What a chooch

He's going to pardoned on Tuesday, count on it.

He doesn't need a pardon. He is such a joke he is hardly worth prosecuting. He could be taken to court in a civil mass class action suit by almost everyone. I am offended by the sight of him.

One wonders what happened to someone once capable of mayoring a huge city.  Did he simply deteriorate and go nutty, or did he have staff and personal assistants that kept from running off the road when he was an important person.

Snapper Carr: Rudy is beginning to realize he's not getting a Get Out Of Jail Free card from Donald.  He's going to flip.

Nah...Trump has got to realize he's gonna need a lot of attorneys and a lot of knob schlobbing in the coming months.

He cares more about the latter...but the first will be 'take what you can get' (What attorneys are gonna be willing to go to bat for Donald with his...ah...sketchy...history of paying people for doing stuff.)

Rudy does both for the low, low price of 'Check's in the mail!'

2021-01-18 7:38:37 AM
Surely if Trump is the most masculine president EVAR, then Rudy sauntering up to the podium at the Sedition Rally on Jan 6th to the tune of "Macho Man" makes him the 2nd most masculine guy in DC, correct? Nothing says "I'm in touch with myself" than a song with lusty lyrics that worship the muscled physique of the ideal macho man.

I'm not saying it would be great for the country, but if Rudy is called to testify for Trump during the impeachment hearings, he should totes play Macho Man as he enters the room.

2021-01-18 7:54:36 AM
Rudy was the guy on the stage telling Trumps followers that what they were doing and going to do was LEGAL

drongozone: I did like though he got rid of the squeegee men and the fare on the Staten Island Ferry.

The squeegee men were doing god's work -- taking NYC's streets away from suburban drivers and giving it back to pedestrians and cyclists. NYC needs to ban free car storage on the street, open up about half of the streets in lower Manhattan to pedestrians, and final build a working bike infrastructure.

This actually the tactic Senators might consider. Whether or not Trump put weasel words into his speech, the tragedy lawyer didn't bother. He was shamelessly inciting violence. Trump heard this, and then took the stage anyway.

He was arguably at that point legally required to either not speak, or refute the calls to violence his representation has literally just made. Even if he hadn't added his own encouragement, by simply speaking after Rudy's violent rhetoric, he was already endorsing violence against the government.

Seems like something he might do, get someone else to pay for something he wants.

"If I am pressed for a straight answer I shall say that, as far as we can see, looking at it by and large, taking one thing with another, then in the last analysis it is probably true to say that, at the end of the day, you would find, in general terms that, not to put too fine a point on it, there really was not very much in it one way or the other,  as far as one can see, at this stage."

Nice drama, but that would lead to calls for a mistrial due to legal malpractice, which would probably get him** off and her disbarred.

She's gotta know she too would have been aborted if Marla hadn't hide her pregnancy so well. If she had any brains in her skull she would have recorded the whole damn bunch and made her own fortune on the exposé.
